Welcome back to school everyone! We hope you had a fabulous summer and took some time to relax. The fall semester is abuzz with engaging opportunities and plenty of professional development conferences. Take a moment to add a few to your Fall 2024 calendar!

Partnership Specific

Governing Board Meetings

Review the minutes and materials from the July Governing Board meeting to ensure you are up-to-date on discussions and activities pertaining to the Partnership. The next WSUP Governing Board meeting will be held on Friday October 11, 2024 - University of Wyoming from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

Invoice and MOU Reminder



Just a reminder that the Partnership is resuming membership fees for FY 2025. A second round of invoices was sent out the week of August 12th. MOUs were sent out in May. If you are a district or education organization that has not yet paid your membership fees or signed your MOU be on the look out for those in the mail. If you have not received those or need to request a new copy, please contact Nicholas Jesse.

District Residency Connections Fair 2024


The District Residency Connections Fair (DRCF) will host its third annual event on Thursday and Friday October 10-11 at the University of Wyoming Union. This year sees an expansion with two days worth of programming and two fair sessions for districts and education organizations to connect with University of Wyoming College of Education students. This event is sponsored by the Wyoming School-University Partnership, the College of Education School of Teacher Education, the College of Education Dean's Office, and the College of Education Student Success Center. Education Community Updates

The 307PLA was established through collaboration with superintendents, principals, the Wyoming Department of Education, the UW College of Education, the Wyoming School-University Partnership, and the state principal associations. The academy aims to improve educational leadership statewide and increase teacher and leader retention.


Other key components of the 307PLA are the Wyoming Principal Mentor Program (WPMP) and professional learning specifically for aspiring, new and experienced principals in the areas of professional learning communities, multi-tiered system of support, literacy, competency based education, and wellness.

307 Principal Leadership Academy Update


On July 25-26, 2024, the 307 Principal Leadership Academy kicked off the school year with two full days of Wyoming Principals leading training for aspiring, new, and experienced Wyoming Principals. During the two day event, more than 70 principals from across Wyoming, came together to engage in professional learning and build a stronger community of learners.

You're Invited!


The Wyoming Teacher Mentor Corps (WTMC) will gather for the Annual Fall Retreat on September 24-25, 2024 at UW-Casper. On the 25th, teacher mentors will share what they have learned and accomplished during their 15-month training program in support of new teachers in Wyoming. Teacher Mentors from 13 Wyoming school districts will participate in the Teacher Action Research Project Fair held in Room 322 of UW-Casper's Union Building (UU). During this time Mentor Teachers will share their research and learning with members of the education community. Additionally an overview of the WTMC program will be shared.


Free lunch is provided to those who attend.

Project-Based Learning (PBL)


The University of Wyoming College of Education recently received a grant from the Wyoming Department of Education to fund Wyoming Project-Based Learning. This collaboration is partnering with Fremont #24, Park #16, Teton, #1, and Washakie #2, in an effort to provide exposure to exemplary project-based learning schools, while also acquainting teachers and schools with the PBL learning model. This project is also partnering with Spencer Creative Services where participants will take classes on how PBL can work in their classrooms, while providing them with access to an array of resources. Fall Literacy Conference


The University of Wyoming Literacy Research Center and Clinic will host the annual Fall Literacy Conference on September 27-28, 2024 at Casper College. The theme this year is A Celebration of Literacy and Literature with keynote speakers, Lester Laminack, Vera Ahiyya, Nikki Baldwin, as well as, afternoon sessions. The cost is $50 to attend and is reduced to $15 for undergraduate and graduate students. For more information contact Sara Pommarane.

MTSS Fall Training Series


The 2024-2025 WDE Statewide System of Support MTSS Professional Development will be offering three MTSS training series to expand your knowledge and sharpen your skills. This series will offer an introduction to MTSS for educators and will offer credit for MTSS 101 if you attend all four PD trainings.

Registration is now open for the 2024 Wyoming Early Childhood Collaborative Conference happening on October 11-12 at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, WY. The cost for the conference ranges from $50-$75.

The Fall 2024 College Transfer Preparation Camp will take place on August 23, 2024 on the University of Wyoming Campus. This optional, one-day program focuses specifically on the needs of transfer students, their unique perspectives, and the questions they have about transferring to UW.
