CancerCare's Stories of Help and Hope

Throughout the year, CancerCare presents the stories of people who have cancer, their caregivers and many more.

Our story this month is Ashley V., who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at age 35. Major life changes followed a quick start of chemotherapy treatment, during which she discovered CancerCare.

She now shares her story by way of video and Stories of Help and Hope.

CancerCare Helps With Clinical Trials

CancerCare's www.myTRIAList.org helps patients learn about clinical trials, find them by location and other criteria, and provides interviews, tutorials and more to explain how valuable they can be.

Not only do clinical trials help many patients in their current forms of treatment, they can also lead to advancements in the future of cancer care.

CancerCare's Shared Stories and Strength at Young Adult Event

In late July, CancerCare joined with the young adult organization Stupid Cancer for a potluck picnic at Brooklyn Bridge Park. In addition to CancerCare staff members, a group of young adults were able to meet and share their stories. Cancer can take a young person out of step with the lives of their peers, which is why contact and mutual support of those in similar situations can be so powerful.
