LABBB 2024 Graduation
Sharing best practices and promoting inclusive opportunities for students with special needs

Executive Director's

Message

To the LABBB Community:

We look forward to welcoming back our students, colleagues, friends, and families on September 4 th for our students’ first day of school. We hope that you are enjoying a fun and relaxing summer ( and keeping cool!).

We strive to bring our mission to each and every child that attends LABBB, and give them opportunities to develop their academic, social, and career independence in the most inclusive settings possible. As we do this in partnership with you and your child, we create a valuable community network. During the year, there will be many opportunities for you and your child to participate in LABBB Community events such as Open houses, Special Olympics, Parent Informational meetings, Transition Informational Fair, Executive Director Chats, and other events. We invite you, and hope that you will feel welcome, to be an active member of the LABBB Community. We are rolling out a new website and hope that you find improvements with easier access to our site.

You should have received the Student LABBB & Health forms in the mail, several of the documents being shared are specific to LABBB and need your attention. Please note, that we are looking to streamline this process over the course of this year and to make all forms available electronically~ stay tuned for more information on this. If you have any questions regarding the supplemental materials or the on-line student handbook, please do not hesitate to contact the program administrator overseeing your child's program.

ALL FORMS ARE DUE TO THE PROGRAM OFFICE BY WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2024.

The first day of the 2024-25 school for students is Wednesday, September 4th. All our calendars can be found on our website.

LABBB Evening Parent Meetings will continue on the same evenings as our monthly dances (Thursday evenings). This allows parents of middle and high school students to drop off their daughter or son at the Lexington Community Center (39 Marrett Rd., Lexington, MA) then attend the meetings upstairs. We also encourage our parents of elementary school students to attend the parent nights. These informative meetings provide time to discuss and learn about a variety of topics related to programming, special needs planning, recreation, transition, post -22 planning, supplemental security income ( SSI), financial planning and many other important topics. Keep your eyes open for a survey regarding parent night topics that are of interest to you. We want to hear from you!

Parent meetings for 2024-25 will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the following dates:

October 17, 2024

November 21, 2024

Rides were open from 3:00PM – 5:00PM with free hoodsies, popcorn and water. Please remember that LABBB is included in this event each year on the opening day of the Lexington Lions Club July Carnival.
