Greetings Parents and Families of SHS!

First off, I want to express how honored and humbled I am to be leading this amazing building, my beloved alma mater SHS! I do hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Time sure flies this time of year! First, although there's still a couple weeks left in our break, I'm already excited at the prospect of students returning for the 2025-2026 school year.

Over the past two months, our amazing support staff has been hard at work cleaning, painting, and waxing our buildings, top to bottom. Students will be returning to facilities that embody our commitment to excellence in all we do. We are eager to continue this journey as we remain guided by our core mission to "Educate, Motivate, Inspire." That is who we are and what we do!

At SHS, we believe a robust partnership between staff, students and parents is essential to our mission of creating optimal outcomes for all. We know that when these stakeholders collaborate and share clear expectations, great things happen. We are committed to offering rigorous instruction, fostering a climate of mutual respect, and preparing students to be engaged members of our school and the greater Steubenville community. Whether your child is involved in academics, the arts, athletics, leadership opportunities, or service projects, we are there to support them every step of the way.

Open communication between school and home is essential. I invite you to stay connected with us through our school website, parent communication platforms, events, and meetings throughout the year. Tax-Free Holiday Is Coming! No Sales Tax on Back-to-School Stuff

The 2025 sales tax holiday will take place from 12 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1st, until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14th

Ohio's sales-tax holiday has expanded to two weeks for 2025.

And it's not just an opportunity to save on school supplies. Included in the "Tax Free Holiday" are clothing, electronics, books and sporting goods under $ 500.00.

Seniors are expected to fill out all the necessary forms (refer to below). Students have the option to print and bring the completed forms on the specified day. In the event that the forms are not completed, a parent or guardian must attend to sign the required forms.

Freshman/New Student Orientation 

Date: August 13

Day: Wednesday

Time: 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Location: SHS

Attention all incoming freshman: There will be a mandatory Freshman orientation on Wednesday, August 13th at 5:00 PM in the High School Commons. Both parents and freshman students should attend. Please bring $20 to cover the student homeroom fees.

Timeline for Freshman/New Student Orientation: 

6 pm (Auditorium)

Freshman Orientation Presentation

Pick up schedules and forms in the COMMONS before coming to the Auditorium.

(Doors open in Commons at 5 pm)

Students and Parents are welcome to tour the building after they receive their schedule.
