Runways Are for Aircraft Only: No Vehicles, No Exceptions

We’ve received reports of unauthorized vehicles on the runways at San Marcos Regional Airport during times when the air traffic control tower is closed.

Runways and other movement areas are active at all hours, regardless of tower operations. Unauthorized vehicles on these surfaces create serious safety risks for both aircraft and occupants.

If you have information about any past incidents or observe suspicious or unauthorized activity, please contact Airport Operations at info@flysanmarcos.com or at (512) 216-6039.

Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and secure airport environment.

On Tuesday, August 5, water service to the airport will be shut off at approximately 8:00 a.m. to allow for the repair of a fire hydrant.

Crews estimate the repair will take 3–4 hours, but please plan for a potential outage of up to 6 hours.

During this time, the restrooms at the Airport Management Office will remain available for use by you and your customers.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

The Airport Safety Group meets quarterly and welcomes anyone interested in working together to improve safety at San Marcos Regional Airport.

These informal meetings provide a space to discuss real-world safety topics—like managing increased flight training activity, minimizing vehicle access to the ramp, and identifying proactive solutions to emerging risks.

Your insights matter. Whether you're a tenant, pilot, student, or staff member, we encourage you to attend, share your perspective, and help us keep the airport safe and efficient for everyone.

Coffee’s on us—we hope to see you there!

We’re rolling into another Airport Advisory Board meeting, and you won’t want to miss it! Come for the updates, stay for the donuts, kolaches, and your free airport t-shirt (if you haven’t snagged one yet).

It’s your chance to hear what’s happening at the Airport and connect with others who care about the future of our airport.

Meeting agendas are posted 1–2 days in advance and can be found here:

Good conversation, good food, and great company—see you there!

Most people would probably be surprised to see the types of Foreign Object Debris (or FOD - fancy airport phrase meaning "stuff that shouldn't be where airplanes are operating) we find on the airfield.

Honestly, we could probably have a monthly section for the weirdest FOD found in any given month. But we digress.

Sometimes FOD is trash (throw away your chip bags before you hop in your plane, friends!) but some are things we're sure you'd love to be reunited with. We're looking at you guy-who-dropped-his-iPad-on-Taxiway-Juliet.

If you arrive at your destination without something you coulda sworn you had before you left, check in with Berry Aviation FBO when you return. Odds are we've found it on one of our frequent runway checks and the customer service reps at 1807 Airport Drive will be more than happy to dig through the FOD Box for you.
