A Note from the Executive Director | | |
It’s back to school time! It is hard to believe that the school break is over, and the time of fresh paper and pencils is upon us. The NMASBHC team hopes you had some time to rest and reset so that you are ready to serve the young people as they come back into the halls of learning. We want to thank those of you who sent in some words of gratitude and inspiration after our July newsletter. As you lean into the new year, I hope the words of one of your colleagues shared below will give you strength and hope. They definitely provided that for me! I'll be sharing more in future newsletters, so please feel free to send me your thoughts!
"One of the things I love most about SBHCs is their accessibility. They remove many barriers that children and families face when accessing healthcare. By offering services directly in schools, SBHCs make it easier for kids to get the care they need without having to miss school or navigate complex systems."
- Roxanne Rodriguez, Las Clinicas del Norte
What also cheers me for the future is looking forward to seeing you all at the 2025 Head to Toe conference. In honor of our organization’s 25th anniversary this year, we’ll be doing things in extra special ways for the SBHC pre-conference. Hotel location! Fabulous food! Giveaways galore! Please save the date – November 4th – and watch basecamp, our social media, and the September newsletter for details on registration and content. In the meantime, consider kicking things off by taking advantage of early bird prices for the fabulous raffle (see below); winners will be announced on the final day of the conference.
Wishing you a healthy back to school season!
