END OF SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2025

This is the final day to turn in your 2025 Summer Reading tracking information for prizes.  


No prizes will be given out after this day

Barry Cloyd: Woody Guthrie


Thursday, August 28th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm


Barry Cloyd returns to APLD to present Woody Guthrie: Dustbowl Troubadour. 



Join us in the program room to learn about the life, times and rough and tumble story of America’s balladeer, Woody Guthrie is brought to life by Barry Cloyd in this privately commissioned one-man original presentation. Cloyd is a consummate folk musician that brings all the passion of the man who wrote, “This Land is Your Land” and hundreds of other songs that have become such a significant part of our national heritage to life.


KIDS PROGRAMMING


Our youth programming break starts on Saturday, August 2nd.

We will resume with Ages 0-5 programming on Wednesday, August 20th.


Lap Time


Lap Time will take place Wednesday, August 20th & 27th starting at 9:30am Lap Time is filled with fingerplay, books, and songs.



Recommended for 0-2 years old.

Story Time


Story time will take place Thursday, August 21st & 28th starting at 10:00am. Story time is filled with books, songs, instruments, and play.



Recommended for 3-5 years old.

Play Time


Play Time will take place Friday, August 1st, 22nd & 29th from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Join us for free play in the program room and socialize with other families!


Recommended for 0-5 years old.

Matter of Balance


Tuesdays from September 2nd to October 21st from 10:00am to 12:00pm


Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.

Speaker: Dr. William Gingold, Holocaust Survivor


Thursday, September 11th from 5:30-7:00pm


Come and hear Dr. William Gingold talk about his experience of surviving the Holocaust as a child and how his family rebuilt after. From the Warsaw Ghetto, to the Siberian work camps, to Ellis Island, this will be a story you are sure to remember.
