Dear CIM friends and supporters,
The Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (All-Ireland Fleadh) kicks off this Sunday in Wexford town in Ireland and we are thrilled to announce that twelve of our students will be studying with Irish tutors throughout the week, and competing next weekend (August 8-10). Follow their travels on social media, and be sure to cheer them on from afar!
With just nine days to go until the Irish Fair of Minnesota, our students and instructors are fine tuning their set lists and gearing up for one of our favorite weekends of the year! Do you have your tickets yet?
On Friday afternoon, why not move your happy hour to Harriet Island to enjoy An Luan & Open Sky Ensembles’ 4:00pm set on the main stage? Or, start your Saturday and Sunday at 10:00am with CIM’s instrument Petting Zoos on the Children’s Stage, hosted by Iain Dove McAfee & CIM students. Our fabulous Summer Youth Performance Ensemble performs at the Welcome Stage on Saturday at 6pm and at the Pub Tent on Sunday at 2:00pm. Of course, our instructors are in many of the local bands (see a full CIM list here), and you won’t want to miss the featured main stage acts like Eileen Ivers, Boiled in Lead, Gaelic Storm and Emma Langford.
No matter what your plans, be sure to come by the CIM tent in the Family, Crafts, & Céilís area and say hello! Thanks to our generous volunteers who have stepped up to help CIM have a presence at the Fair.
