Dear friends,
I hope your summer has been a mix of sunshine, relaxation, and maybe a little planning for the busy fall season ahead. August always feels like the “calm before the storm” in fundraising, which makes it the perfect time to gather, learn, and get inspired together.
One of the things I love most about our AFP chapter is the sense of community we’ve built. Fundraising can feel overwhelming at times, but being surrounded by people who understand the challenges and celebrate the wins makes all the difference. We’re here to learn from each other, encourage each other, and grow together — but we have to make the time to nurture those connections.
This month’s program is one you won’t want to miss! On August 11, we’ll welcome Myra Savage from Bank of America for a conversation on their philanthropic efforts here in North Texas. Myra will share how nonprofits can engage with Bank of America through grants, volunteer opportunities, and other resources, plus give us a peek into trends from their annual survey of high-net-worth donors. With Karen Perry, CFRE, CPC, facilitating, I know this session will be packed with insights you can take straight back to your organization.
So come grab lunch with us, soak up the knowledge, and take time to connect with the amazing network of professionals who make up our AFP community. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Warm regards,
Hillary Bessinger, CFRE
2025 AFP Fort Worth Metro Chapter President
