Madelyn painted a tote bag of Mary, another older participant, and gifted it to her at the end of one of the LBFE Boston CitySites programs.
This is a picture of them both together. Madelyn said “Mary, look, it’s you! I made this for you!” Mary was so very excited to receive the gift.

"At the recent mixer at Veronica Smith, I had a great time playing Dominoes and Monopoly with a group of older adults. It was really nice to see people teaching each other how to play and experience the joy of learning.
In-between games talked about table discussion questions and I felt comfortable enough to share that I was trans. It was really nice to feel comfortable with a group of people who I had only just met. We have such a welcoming community at LBFE!" -Levi, LBFE Boston Gen2GenQ Program Assistant

Older adults in our Creative Connections program LOVE drum circles with Pasha, one of our instructors. Watch it here.
Facilitated drum circles use the drum, and African and Western styles of hand drumming, as a tool for both meditation and self-healing. Drumming also fosters feelings of unity, connection, and helps with reduction of stressors.

“Wow, these are pictures of my sister who recently passed, I didn’t know I had these on my phone! Now I can carry her with me everywhere!” -Paula
After Michaela, LBFE Boston co-op and Program Coordinator, helped Paula understand her photos app and how to get photos downloaded from messages.

On this day, we played Dominoes with Mary (left) and Mac (right), at CitySites programming. But mostly, got to know each other!
We learned Mac is originally from Jamaica, and his extended family now lives in the Hartford, CT area. His favorite music is reggae. Mary just moved to Laurel Ridge within the past few month and recently had a milestone birthday! Her favorite part of our visits, 'playing games with YOU!'"
