Hello fellow Alamo Ranch Neighbors,
I want to first thank those of you who reached out and wished me a fast recovery from my surgery. I am home and healing fairly well. The outpouring of support was very reassuring, and I appreciate it very much.
The playground is closed until further notice for replacement. The last inspection we had suggested a lot of repairs, and the cost to repair than replace was comparable, plus the playground's lifespan is coming up next year, so the board didn't want to waste money repairing if we needed to replace anyway. The big playground will have an extra cover since it is in the sun 90% but since the small one is shaded by trees, it will have the same type of covering as the previous one had.
After-hours pool trespassing took a big turn this year. We've never had this many violators, at least since I've been here. Myself and the manager Perry have been monitoring the cameras and calling BCSO when there are trespassers but they were not issuing trespassing warnings, and therefore, when they would come back were not getting arrested for criminal trespassing. Our hands were tied until after a discussion at the board meeting last week, the board decided that we are going to start towing at the clubhouse parking lot. If I, the office staff, or a board member sees cars parked in the parking lot after hours without prior permission (example, a clubhouse rental), then tow trucks will be called and the violators will have to pay to get their cars back. The towing company will not charge us for the service. I hope this helps ease residents' minds about the mischief that has been taking place on our property.
School is starting up soon, so I'd like to ask residents to please be conscious of children walking and crossing streets. There have been a few requests to get stop signs on Volunteer pkwy because of incidents that happened last year, and the office is looking into the options. If you feel it is important, please call BC Public Works and voice your concern.
Our Annual meeting will be here before we know it, and we will have 4 spots on the board open for election. If you are on a committee and want to level up, or if you've been following along with the community business, I encourage you to put in an application and help our community thrive, or at least maintain its resources we currently have. The application deadline will be September 3rd. The application link will be below, or you can pick one up at the office.
As always, if you have any questions/comments, please feel free to email me.
