| | Youth Rising Advisory Committee | | |
Colorado Rising for Communities’ Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a program dedicated to center more youth leaders in the climate movement.
The committee will be made up of ten youth, ages 13-18, and will meet one Saturday a month through the end of 2025. This is a paid opportunity!
Those on the committee will work towards making positive, localized community impacts through youth-led initiatives. This committee will also support planning for the next Youth Unity Rising Summit!

The Jeffco Teens Workgroup is for youth in Jefferson County to work together on projects they are interested in. This opportunity includes learning about and participating in coalition work to improve health, safety, and wellness in Jefferson County.
Plus, youth who participate get paid!
Project topics may include:
- Substance misuse prevention
- Mental health support
- Program evaluation
- And more!

This workgroup will meet every month on the first Thursday of the month from 4 – 5:30 PM and may be virtual or in person.
This opportunity is open to all youth aged 11 – 22 who either live and/or go to school in Jefferson County, Colorado.

Join Apprentice of Peace Youth Organization (AOPYO) for a Tai Chi and Paint event.
August 9th, 2025, 11 AM - 1 PM, location TBD
At it's core, this is a hands-on introduction to wellness that provides:
- A space to decompress, explore creativity, and learn accessible wellness tools
- An opportunity for participants (especially youth) to sign up for peer-to-peer mentoring
- A demonstration of AOPYO's model - how we use art, Tai Chi, and emotional insight to guide development

According to the 2023 Healthy Kids Colorado Survey, 7.2% of Jefferson County high schoolers have used a prescription drug not prescribed to them or differently than how a doctor told them to use it.
Overdose can and does happen with a variety of substances. Naloxone (Narcan) can reverse overdose caused by fentanyl or other opioids. Naloxone will not help if an overdose is not from an opioid, but it also will not hurt if you are not sure what someone has had. Naloxone can be obtained without a prescription from any pharmacy and is simple to use.
