First up is the Airport Safety Group (ASG) on Tuesday, August 11 at 10:00am at the Airport Management Offices. These informal meetings provide a space to discuss real-world safety topics—like managing increased flight training activity, minimizing vehicle access to the ramp, and identifying proactive solutions to emerging risks.

On Thursday, August 13 at 10:00am at the Airport Management Offices is our Airport Advisory Board (AAB) meeting.

It’s your chance to hear what’s happening at the Airport and connect with others who care about the future of our airport.

To improve safety and better manage ramp activity as traffic continues to grow, seven new taxilanes will be established perpendicular to Taxiways Alpha and Charlie. These defined taxilanes will help concentrate taxi movement in designated areas, reducing the potential for FOD and improving overall operational safety.

As part of the project, roughly 50' x 300' foot sections of pavement will be repaired using a combination of panel reconstruction, crack sealing, and spalling repair. Once complete, the affected areas will be properly marked and re-striped to clearly define the new taxilanes.

The project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, November 10 (after Formula 1 weekend and the airshow).

Significant coordination and cooperation with airport users will be essential for project success. Additional details will be shared soon, so please keep an eye out for future special newsletter updates.

The Texas Capital Airshow is officially three months away, and planning is well underway for this year’s event.

Many of you will remember that the inaugural airshow was cancelled last year due to the government shutdown, so we are especially excited to welcome this event back to San Marcos Regional Airport.

Additional information will be shared with tenants and airport users in the coming weeks as we work together to properly prepare the ramp and airport facilities for event guests, performers, and support crews.

Tickets are currently on sale at texascapitalairshow.com. Scheduled performers include the USAF F-22 Raptor, F-16, a jump team, and CAF favorites That’s All Brother and Yellow Rose, with more performers to be announced soon.
