Can You Hear It?
The excitement is building as we race toward the 2026 midterm elections!
We’re seeing more campaign signs. More ads. More news. More conversations. And, of course, more mud-slinging.
But here at the North Carolina Federation of Republican Women, we aren’t distracted by the noise. We have a clear goal in sight:
REPUBLICAN VICTORIES IN 2026!
Across North Carolina, Republican Women are getting to work:
- We are fighting for Michael Whatley for the United States Senate.
- We are whipping up the votes for Laurie Buckhout for U.S. Congress in North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District.
- We are standing strong for Sarah Stevens for the North Carolina Supreme Court.
- We are spreading the word about our North Carolina Court of Appeals candidates — Michael Byrne, Craig Collins, and George Bell.
- And we are supporting our Republican candidates up and down the ballot — from Congress to the courthouse, from Raleigh to our hometowns.
We are also making sure voters understand the important initiatives they will find at the bottom of their ballots this November. Every race matters. Every issue matters. Every vote matters.
The next few months are going to require all of us.
Make the calls. Knock on the doors. Send the texts. Write the postcards. Register voters. Talk to your neighbors. Share the message. Attend the rallies. Volunteer for a campaign.
Most importantly — VOTE, and bring someone with you!
For generations, Republican women have been the volunteers who show up, roll up their sleeves, and get the job done. 2026 will be no different.
We know what is at stake.
We know what we have to do.
And we are ready.
We ARE the North Carolina Republican Women.
Can you hear us yet?
Because the excitement is building, the women are mobilizing, and our voices are getting louder.

Lunch Speaker - Sarah Stevens for NC Supreme Court
Sarah Stevens is a longtime North Carolina attorney and experienced state leader who is the Republican candidate for the North Carolina Supreme Court in 2026. A graduate of UNC Greensboro and Campbell University School of Law, Stevens has practiced law for more than 30 years and served in the North Carolina House beginning in 2009, including eight years as Speaker Pro Tempore and leadership roles on judiciary and election law issues.
A Mount Airy native, Stevens has built much of her legal and legislative career around advocating for children, families, and victims. She is running for the Supreme Court on a judicial philosophy that emphasizes applying the law as written, respecting the North Carolina Constitution, and maintaining the proper role of judges rather than legislating from the bench.

Dinner Speaker - Amanda Makki
Amanda Makki is a former Republican candidate for Florida’s 13th Congressional District, which includes St. Petersburg and Clearwater Beach, but she originally hails from the suburbs of Washington, DC and grew up in Potomac, Maryland. She is an alumnus of the University of Maryland for her undergraduate degree and Catholic University of America for her JD.
Her passion for service of people evolved into a passion to serve her country. As a Farsi language speaker, Makki was appointed to serve the Army General Counsel at the Pentagon just days after the terrorist acts of 9/11. It was in this role that she began to refine her knowledge of foreign policy.
Makki went on to serve as senior advisor in both the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, and before the age of 40, became one of the youngest partners at K&L Gates, one of the world’s largest premier law firms. While Makki’s work at K&L Gates, she focused on health care policy and also was engaged in the firm’s pro-bono efforts providing assistance through Legal Counsel for the Elderly, a leading provider of free legal services.
Amanda has served as an election attorney since 2006 for various federal candidates, but most notably she was a recount attorney in 2020 in Wisconsin for President Trump and in Michigan last year in 2024 for the presidential election.
Amanda Makki is a fisherman and an avid bike rider. She is currently a VA accredited attorney in all 50 states, helping our nations veterans with their service-connected disabilities.
She is also a Newsmax, News Nation, Fox News, & BBC political and legal strategist brought on to discuss and provide analysis on complex legal and political matters.

Prayer Breakfast - Michael Whatley
Michael Whatley is the Republican nominee for the United States Senate from North Carolina in 2026. A longtime Republican leader and attorney, Whatley previously served as Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party and later as Chairman of the Republican National Committee during the 2024 election cycle.
Raised in Blowing Rock, Whatley graduated from Watauga High School and earned degrees from UNC Charlotte, Wake Forest University, and the University of Notre Dame, where he received his law degree.
His public-service experience includes serving as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole and leading the Energy, Environment, and Agriculture teams for President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential transition. Whatley and his wife, Suzanne, live in Gaston County and have three children.

I encourage every member to take a few minutes between now and your January club meeting to refresh yourself with your bylaws. An informed membership strengthens our clubs, supports our leaders, and ensures we are all working together with clarity and purpose.
