Honoring Outgoing PILI Board President Kyle Petersen
PILI's fiscal year will close on August 31st and Kyle Petersen of Seyfarth Shaw will conclude her two years of service as PILI's President. Kyle was the first PILI Alum to serve in this role. Prior to serving in this role, Kyle was vice president, secretary and treasurer. She will now become Immediate Past President. We are so grateful to Kyle for her leadership and service! Read more »

PILI Welcomes Newest Alumni at 2026 Alumni Reception
PILI’s Alumni Network gathered at The Gage on August 5th for the 2026 Alumni Reception. The evening celebrated this year’s class of PILI Interns and Fellows, recognized several outstanding members of the PILI community and welcomed our newest Alumni into a statewide network committed to public interest law and pro bono service. PILI Receives More Than $300,000 in Grant Support to Our Work
PILI recently received $302,174 in new grant funding to expand access to legal assistance, strengthen pro bono service and invest in our organization’s future. This support will advance Illinois Free Legal Answers, our Conflict of Interest Pro Bono Referral Panels, legal assistance for veterans and military families, the development of the PILI Volunteer Hub and more. Fall 2026 Internship Applications Open
Applications are now open for PILI’s Fall 2026 Law Student Internships. PILI Interns work 200 hours during the semester at public interest law agencies in Illinois and receive a $3,250 stipend for their service. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so law students are encouraged to apply early. Learn more»
