Dear Scholars, Staff, Families, and Community,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! It is with tremendous excitement, gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose that I return as your RSPA Campus Principal. While I had the privilege of serving in the district's Curriculum and Instruction Department this past year, my heart has always remained with our school community. I am honored to be back, and I look forward to continuing our journey together.

Our theme for this school year, "Passport to Excellence: Every Journey Matters," reminds us that each scholar, staff member, family, and community partner plays a vital role in the success of our school. Every journey is unique, every milestone deserves celebration, and every step we take together moves us closer to excellence.

This year, our focus is clear. We will intentionally strengthen our school culture by...

Don't Be a No-Show on the First Day & Lose Your Seat!

The First Day of School is Monday, August 10th. Per TEA, students who do not attend the first day of school will be considered a no-show and therefore withdrawn from RSPA. If you decide to return to RSPA, you must re-enroll.

Please keep in mind that RSPA does have a waitlist, and you'll risk losing your seat if no space is available. Please understand that excused absences are not valid, and you will still need to re-enroll.

For additional questions, please email admissions@rhodesschool.org.

Arrivals & Dismissal:

ARRIVALS:

  • Student drop-off is at the front of Building B.
  • Morning drop-off time begins at 7:30 AM when the school doors open.
  • If parents need to drop their child off earlier than 7:30 AM, the child will be placed in Crayon Club and assessed a $30.00 fee.
  • Hugs and kisses are encouraged at the front door, not in the building.
  • Classes begin at 7:55 AM.
  • At 8:05 AM, all doors will be locked, and parents must walk students into the front office to sign in. Students are considered tardy at 8:05 AM.

DISMISSAL:

  • Classes end at 3:30 PM.
  • Early pick-up ends at 2:15 PM. No student will be released between 2:15 and 3:25 PM.
  • Car Tags will be issued to each car rider student. Please display it upon pick-up.
  • If parents need to pick their child up later than 4:00 PM, the child will be placed in Crayon Club and assessed a $30.00 fee if not enrolled in the 21st Century After-School Program.
  • Please ensure the school is aware of any changes to your scholar’s usual dismissal routine by 2:15 PM. Contact your scholar's teacher or call the front office if needed. Parents of bus riders must notify the Transportation Dept. in the Cariina App. Safety is our top priority, and we must know how your child will get home.

Yondr Cell Phone Pouch Policy

Read the full policy in the 26-27 Student-Parent Handbook

The Yondr Cell Phone Pouch Policy at Rhodes School for the Performing Arts aims to reduce distractions and enhance focus.

Student Expectations:

  • Each student receives a Yondr pouch at the start of the year, stored in their classroom.
  • Students must place their cell phones and devices in the pouch at the day's start, keeping it locked until instructed otherwise.

End-of-Day Procedures:

  • Pouches can only be unlocked at designated stations after receiving staff direction.

Student Responsibility:

  • Students must maintain their pouches in good condition, avoiding damage or loss. A $25 replacement fee applies for lost or damaged pouches.

Block Party This Sunday

Don't miss out on free haircuts & hair braiding, food, a mental health fair, free school supplies, music & performances, student-athlete physicals, and so much more to help prepare you for the new school year!

Registration is required to receive free school supplies, so make sure you pre-register.

No Stanley Cups This Year, Water Bottles Only

Dear Families,

We want to remind everyone that Stanley cups and similar large containers are not permitted on campus. To ensure a smooth and uninterrupted school day, students should only bring standard-sized water bottles.

Limiting the size of drink containers helps reduce the need for frequent bathroom breaks, allowing students to remain focused and engaged in their learning. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in supporting a productive school environment!

The 2027 Spring Production votes are in...

Dear Families,

This Summer, we included your input in determining the 2027 Spring Production, and we've reached a decision!

We are pleased to announce that our 3rd-8th grade scholars will present Alice in Wonderland JR. in May 2027!

We look forward to working hard this school year to ensure our production is a memorable and wonderful learning experience for our scholars, families, and CREW. Please be on the lookout for audition dates from your Theater instructor this Fall!

Thank you for your votes and for being part of the CREW!
