Cardiovascular Risk in People with HIV: New Risk Equations, New Guidelines, and Who Gets a Statin: The 2026 ACC/AHA/Multisociety Dyslipidemia Guideline recommends statin therapy for primary prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) for all people living with HIV aged 40 to 75 years, independently of their traditional ASCVD risk score. This replaces previous calculator-based thresholds.
