ARE YOU A FUTURE INFLUENCER?

📣 Got the social media spark? Ever think, â€śI could totally crush this influencer thing”? Dayspring’s starting an Influencer Team—and we want YOU on it! Help us share the messages of progressive Christianity and the fun, inspiring, and downright awesome things happening in our church and community.

Not into writing or being on camera? No problem. If you’d rather capture the energy of our congregation in photos or videos for others to share—we need your creative eye too.

We’ll kick things off with our first Influencer Team meeting this Sunday, August 24, at 11:15am. You can join in person or online. Can’t make it live? We’ll send you the recording or notes so you won’t miss a thing.

Interested? Contact Ryan King at ryan@dayspring-umc.org.

TAIZÉ SERVICE

Step out of the rush and step into gentle peace at our Taizé service this Sunday at 4:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall. By candlelight and simple chant, we’ll breathe, sing, and sit in quiet—creating space to listen for God’s still, small voice. Whether you’re carrying worries, seeking clarity, or simply craving calm, this contemplative hour offers a soft landing for the soul. Come as you are; no experience needed—just an open heart and a desire to be renewed.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

We’re inviting volunteers to join our Children’s Ministry! Your presence and gifts can help create a safe, loving, and empowering space where kids can grow in faith and confidence. Watch the short video to learn more about the heart of this ministry and how you can be part of it. If you feel called to serve, please click here to sign up—we’d love to have you with us! For any questions please email Jessica Nuñez-LaMarre.

YOUTH MINISTRY

Dayspring Youth Ministry aims to provide an inclusive, welcoming place for 7th-12th graders to explore their faith in a non-judgmental atmosphere. We are committed to fun experiences that lead to lasting friendships and a greater sense of purpose in our world. We may not have all the answers, but we look forward to discovering God’s gifts for us together! All 7th-12th graders are ALWAYS WELCOME at any of our events!

This Sunday 8/24:

10:00: Formation in Room 111

11:30-1:30: Volleyball at Gilbert First United Methodist

Email Sam and Julie for more information.

HANDBELL REHEARSALS

Our handbell choir, the DayspRingers, meets on Tuesday evenings from 6 – 7:30. The first rehearsal will be August 26, and we always welcome new ringers! Email Cindy Van Vleet for more information.

THE COMPASSION TREE

We are reintroducing our memory tree along Juniper Street—now called the Compassion Tree. Bright ribbons and tree labels will be available for names and prayers to tie to the branches, joining those first placed during the early days of COVID when our sanctuary was closed. Back then, it became a way to share love and prayers for those who were ill or had passed, and it soon filled with messages that touched both our congregation and neighbors.

Though time has frayed ribbons and taken a few branches, new growth has brought fresh space for messages. This living symbol of Dayspring’s compassion continues to shine in our Tempe community. Ribbons, labels, and markers will be in the little house by the tree—stop by soon to share a prayer or blessing for someone you love.
