Contra Costa County TRUTH Act Community Forum
The Contra Costa County TRUTH Act Community Forum to
discuss civil immigration enforcement activities that occurred in 2025 in Contra Costa County is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25th at 10 AM, during the regular Board of Supervisors meeting.
The forum will present Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office 2025 data on responses to ICE Requests for Notification for serious and/or violent offenders currently in custody, in compliance with state law.
The annual forum has been held since 2017 in accordance with California's Transparent Review of Unjust Transfers and Holds (TRUTH) Act, which requires local jurisdictions to hold a public forum and report on certain interactions with federal immigration authorities.

Discovery Counseling Center Provides Mental Health Support Across the Community
For more than 50 years, Discovery Counseling Center of the San Ramon Valley has helped children, teens, adults and families access quality mental health care, regardless of their ability to pay.
Through clinics in Danville and San Ramon, Discovery offers individual, couples and family counseling with sliding-scale fees and financial assistance. Discovery also partners with San Ramon Valley Unified School District through its School Counseling and Intervention Program (SCIP), providing free counseling and support at schools throughout the district. Since the program began, more than 8,700 students have received over 103,000 counseling sessions.
Discovery also offers free community support groups, including groups for seniors 65+, caregivers, those experiencing grief, somatic and intuitive eating, and LGBTQ+ teens.
From school-based counseling to community support, Discovery continues to be an important local resource helping ensure mental health services are accessible.

Traffic Improvements Now Complete at Mt. Diablo Scenic Boulevard & Diablo Road
A new traffic signal is now fully operational at the intersection of Mt. Diablo Scenic Boulevard and Diablo Road/Blackhawk Road, replacing the previous three-way stop signs.
The project also added a dedicated right-turn lane from southbound Mt. Diablo Scenic Boulevard onto westbound Diablo Road to help improve traffic flow.
The improvements were completed through a partnership between Contra Costa County Public Works, Davidon Homes, and the Town of Danville, with funding from development mitigation, Town traffic mitigation funds, and County gas tax funds.

Pavement Repair Work on Diablo Road, Danville
Public Works will perform pavement repair work on Diablo Road between Avenida Nueva and Creekledge Court (Work Zone 1) and on Blackhawk Road between Magee Ranch Road and east of Oakridge Lane (Work Zone 2), starting Monday, August 24th through Thursday, September 10th.
Work hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Thursday (excluding holidays). Message boards will be posted to alert drivers to the work. Traffic control measures will be used. A pilot car will safely direct vehicles through the work area. Road users may experience delays of 10-15 minutes.

Countywide Guardrail Upgrades Phase II Project
Public Works will begin construction of the Countywide Guardrail Upgrades Phase II project on Monday, August 24th through Tuesday, November 17th. Work will occur between 8 AM and 4 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
In District 2, work will take place in Walnut Creek, Alamo, Danville, and Lafayette. The project will install upgrades to existing guardrails and end treatments at multiple locations throughout the unincorporated areas of the county.
Traffic control will be used and monitored to minimize impacts during commute hours. Message boards and construction signage will alert drivers to the work. Drivers should expect delays of up to 10 minutes through the construction zone.
Funding for this project is provided by a state Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant and Gas Tax Funds.

Lamorinda Care Collective - Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Could you or someone you know use a little extra support? The Lamorinda Care Collective in Lafayette offers a welcoming place where individuals and families can shop for everyday essentials, completely free of charge and with no appointment needed.
Visitors can find new and gently used clothing and shoes, diapers and baby supplies, toiletries, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies, bedding, kitchen items, toys, games, sports equipment and more. Inventory changes regularly based on community donations.

Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail Repaving
East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) will be repaving Lafayette-Moraga Regional Trail between S Lucille Lane in Lafayette and Rheem Boulevard in Moraga. This work is part of ongoing efforts to improve trail surfaces and visitor safety throughout the park system.
The following portion of the trail will be closed for the duration of the project:
- Between S Lucille Lane in Lafayette and Rheem Boulevard in Moraga
- Lucille Lane Staging Area
Closures are from Thursday, August 27th until Thursday, September 3rd. The repaving will consist of removing 3” of asphalt and replacing it with 3” of new asphalt. Electronic notification signboards and other signs will be placed two weeks in advance of the closures. Any changes to closure dates will be posted to electronic signboards in-park and online.

Calling All Artists for San Ramon’s 2027 Annual Galleries Call
The City of San Ramon is inviting artists of all ages and experience levels to apply for the 2027 Annual Galleries Call. Selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their work in one of the City’s five galleries during the 2027 calendar year.
This program is meant to be mutually beneficial to both the artist and the San Ramon community. Desired goals are as follows:
For artists
- Provide artists at every stage the opportunity to show their work
- Provide the opportunity for artists to sell their work
- Provide the opportunity for artists to network and expand their presence
- Allow artists to share their process and introduce concepts within their work with others

Funding Opportunity for Community-Based Organizations
Contra Costa County's Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice (ORESJ) has released Request for Proposals (RFP) #255 seeking community-based organizations to provide services through the Federal D. Glover Community Wellness Network. The County anticipates awarding up to $1.25 million annually to expand culturally responsive programs supporting behavioral health, family and maternal health, housing navigation, reentry services, preventive health care, and public benefits navigation.
Proposals are due September 4th by 5 PM. Interested organizations should plan on attending the virtual bidders' information sessions, which are offered on August 12th and August 18th.

Behavioral Health Board
Supervisor Andersen is seeking applicants from District 2 for seats on the Contra Costa County Behavioral Health Board. The Board advises the County on mental health and substance use services, reviews programs and policies, promotes community involvement, and provides recommendations to improve the local behavioral health system.
