Dear Christ the King Catholic School Community,

Today, our Church celebrates the Memorial of the Queenship of Mary. We are so blessed with Mary’s humility/graciousness/wisdom/compassionate expression in God’s salvific plan.  The theologians/fathers of our Church, Doctors of the Church, Popes, and down through the centuries, have given authoritative expression to this truth and the crowning testimony to this common belief.  Clearly expressed in the wonders of art and in the teaching of the liturgy – Mary is a beautiful example to us all.

At Christ the King Catholic School we begin each day in prayer…. With faculty/staff to start, and then with our community each morning.  I really admire our priorities:  God first followed by family and community.  

As we look out at the week we see picture day and Faith Families on Thursday.  Followed by our first mass of the school year on Friday.  The start of our new school year has been awesome!  Having our faculty/staff/students/families back brings great promise, energy, and renewed spirit.

As we begin the climb, which is our theme this school year, tremendous blessings and promises come from God.  Our diocesan focus on the Holy Eucharist this school year presents wonderful opportunities to grow in faith.

In closing, the following quote from Saint Thomas Aquinas fully captures our journey as we begin the Climb, “The Eucharist is the sacrament of love: It signifies love, it produces love.  The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life.”

Here is a quick guide of reminders:

• Kindergarten Schedule: Kindergarten Students will have a 12:00 pm dismissal for the first 2 weeks of school. Club CTK is available starting at 12:00 pm on these days. Monday, August 28th Kindergarten begins a full day schedule of 8:00am - 3:00pm

• Reporting an Absence: If your child is absent from school it is important to notify the school by 8:30am. You may notify the school by emailing attendance@ctkschool.org, submitting the online attendance form or by calling the office at 925-685-1109.

• Walking off Campus: If your child will be walking or biking off campus they must have a form on file. Please click here for the "Walking off Campus Form".

• School Pictures: Thursday August 24th. Dress Uniform

• 7th Grade families please turn in your student's TDAP booster vaccine required for 7th grade

When you think of CTK, you think of community. We are truly blessed to have the best families! We would like to thank the Papp family for providing lunch for our faculty and staff to kick off the 23-24 school year!

Family Envelopes will be going home today. Please empty your Family Envelope and return it with your student on Wednesday. If you have any forms that need to come to the office, please use the Family Envelope.

Student emergency forms are in todays Family Envelope. Please look over the forms, make any corrections and return to the office by Friday August 25th.

CTK pride is alive and well on our campus! Every Wednesday is CTK Spirit Wear! Students can wear their tye-dye shirts, or any other CTK event shirts with uniform bottoms. Our Spirit Wear store will open soon. The link will be available in the newsletter.

New students can wear school colors, red, white and yellow on top with uniform bottoms until the Spirit Wear store opens.

School Pictures will be taken on Thursday, August 24th. It is a Dress Uniform Day for all students. You may purchase these pictures but purchase is not required. Instructions will be sent home in your family envelope. If your child is absent on picture day, we have a makeup day scheduled for October 3rd.

Choice lunch is back for the 2023-2024 school year! They have new menus with lots of options! Click here to learn more. Registering is easy at www.choicelunch.com. The first day of service will be August 22nd.

Welcome back, CTK!

Your auction co-chairs Jaffe, Eva, Lara, and Colleen are already busy planning the 2024 Auction! But now…we would like to give you a recap of 2023 Auction!!

First of all, thank you again to Fr. Paulson, Mr. Silveira, the CTK faculty and staff, all of our sponsors and everyone who participated in any way in making the 80s prom such a huge success! Thank you also to all who attended and brought their TOTALLY RAD energy, outfits, and generosity to the evening!

After all expenses were paid and donations were given to the Parish and the Religious Education program, our new and greatly improved classroom shades were ordered through the Fund-A-Need, Tuition for a Year was applied, CTK school was able to deposit a record-breaking $135,000!!! 

This money will go directly to our amazing school and children and will help off-set future tuition! This success is all because of our community’s hard work, time and generosity!!! So once again, THANK YOU! 

We are excited to do it all again this year! So…SAVE THE DATE! The 2024 Auction will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Pleasant Hill Community Center!
