LEADING THE CHARGE OF LIFELONG LEARNING!

Dear Mustang Families,
This week we welcomed our newest Mighty Mustangs, the class of 2033. The excitement in their eyes, in their voice, and in their bounce, or jump reminds us of just how important it is that we get the 2020 - 2021 school year started. They were champions, as they entered the building following all the new guidelines of facial coverings and social distancing. As a leader, there is nothing greater than to see the excitement in the eyes of our students.
What our class of 2033 taught me and I think many of us, was this was all going to be ok! They taught us that wearing a facial covering was just "what we do now," that working to respect the personal space of others was more important than ever, noticing all the signage throughout the school and following the new guidelines was part of how we do things at MCA. They taught us that although for many of us the new guidelines and our new way of doing things right now are uncomfortable and just "new," that is really is just "what we do!" They taught us that coming back to school is going to "OK!" No matter our circumstances or the guidelines that we have been given, coming back to school and being together(while following our guidelines of social distancing) is what we need. The interactions of friends, the conversations, getting to know new people, and connecting with those around us are what we are built to do and our youngest Mighty Mustangs did it with perfection.
They Of course, we know that our families had a big part in helping prepare our newest friends as they walked through the doors of MCA for the first time. Thank you, families for helping make this such a positive, fun experience for all and trusting that we are going to do whatever it takes to keep our students safe, healthy, and happy!
As our staffulty, what we call our faculty and staff, return this week, we will be preparing for the return of our students on Monday, August 31. Working together to ensure the safe and healthy return for everyone, including our staffulty. We will be practicing together our safe and healthy reopening plans and how to make sure that our kiddos arrive we are making this the best experience ever! That is a priority to us.
Thank you for helping us in preparing your students, reminding them of our new guidelines and the work we will do together, staffulty and students on the first days teaching, modeling, and practicing to ensure that everyone at MCA feels safe, secure, and most of all LOVED. Mighty Mustangs, it is time!
Please read on as there are many important details below regarding Meet the Teacher and 1st day of school paperwork that needs to be returned.
Watch out 2020-2021 - here come the Mighty Mustangs!
Sincerely,
Amanda L. Riedl, Learning Leader

Most recently I sent families our Healthy and Safety Return to School Plan. We hope it is user friendly and can be used in your homes as a quick reference when you have questions.
Additionally, we are asking that you review with you student(s) between now and August 31, the practices that will help us return in a “healthy, MCA way!" The success of our students is essential, and we believe that as we teach, model, and practice the “healthy MCA way,” students will embrace and become ambassadors of keeping each other healthy this school year. Thank you in advance for supporting our MCA students!
Water bottles - Please be prepared to send a water bottle with students each day. It is very important that students bring a water bottle this year as water fountains will only be used as water bottle filling stations. Should a student need a water bottle, we will provide one that the student will label and keep as their own.

I look forward to meeting our new families. You are going to love it at MCA! Go Mustangs!
KINDERGARTEN FAMILIES - Those that attended our Kindergarten orientation do NOT need to attend the New Family Orientation. Much of the same information will be shared, except what it takes to be a new school-age kiddo! We will see you on your staggered start day!
