CORRECTION: Mass/Liturgy Attendance Expectations

Our first Eucharistic celebration is Wednesday, August 26. As a reminder, these are important community events, and attendance is required. Campus is closed, and early-outs are permitted only in advance with verification of a medical/dental appointment. 

End-of-Day Dismissal & Traffic

Exiting the parking lot at the end of the school day may take up to 30 minutes, particularly on B Days (typically Wednesdays and Fridays), when students from both campuses are dismissed at the same time. On 0–7 and A Days, dismissal times are more staggered, which helps reduce congestion.

To improve traffic flow during our busiest dismissal period, all vehicles are required to turn right when exiting the back gate for the first 10 minutes after dismissal. Drivers can then access Treat Blvd. through the neighborhood. Please refer to the map for the designated routes. 



As a reminder, the back gate is for vehicles only. Pedestrians may not exit through the back gate and must use the pedestrian gate and staffed crosswalk between Carondelet and De La Salle when leaving campus

Opt-In to Important Messaging from Carondelet

Carondelet uses BrightArrow, an emergency communication system that allows us to quickly reach you in the event of an emergency or unexpected situation, such as a fire or power outage. Through BrightArrow, we can send automated phone calls and text messages within minutes, providing timely updates when they matter most.

Important reminder: Parents and guardians must OPT IN to receive SMS text messages from Carondelet.

As we begin the new school year, we ask all parents and guardians to text “YES” to 79041 to confirm they are opted in to receive important school text messages.

Student Email

Over the summer, Carondelet took steps to strengthen our digital security. As a result, the native Apple Mail app can no longer be used to send or receive email from a student's Carondelet Gmail account. We recommend that all students download the official Gmail App from the Filewave Kiosk on their iPads and use it exclusively for their Carondelet email and communications. If your student needs assistance, they can see Michelle Koski ’98 or Katie Almonte in the Library.

Schedule Changes

The general schedule-change window is now closed. If an AP or Honors course is proving not to be the right fit, students should speak with their teacher. Through Friday, August 28, the teacher may initiate a request for a student to drop the course when appropriate. All other schedules should now be considered final.

Welcome Week 2026: August 24–August 29

Welcome Week kicks off TOMORROW, Monday, August 24, with daily lunchtime activities and events sponsored by the Associated Student Body (ASB), DEI Council, Green Team, Spiritual Life Council (SLC), and our Class Councils. 

Friday, August 28 is our Welcome Rally! Students are invited to deck themselves out in their class colors, with dress code-appropriate shirts, pants, and accessories. This is a great time for the Class of 2030 to show off their purple shirts! Class Councils will be sponsoring spirit booths during lunch.

Freshmen Pre-Game Mixer: Friday, September 4

Calling all 9th graders! Come and hang out before the first De La Salle Football Game of the season. 

Location: De La Salle High School Hofmann Center

Tickets: $10 in advance, $15 @ the door

Food: Pizza, Burgers, and Hot Dogs. Drinks will be available.

Senior Shirts and Sweatshirts Available for Purchase

If your senior did not purchase a shirt or sweatshirt, they are available on the online School Store under Special Events. Shirts and Sweatshirts will be first come, first served; there will not be a restock afterwards.

First Parents Guild Meeting of the Year - Wed. Aug. 26

All Carondelet parents and guardians are welcome to attend our Parents Guild meetings. It's a great way to meet other parents, find out what we are doing, and how you can be a part of it. Our first meeting will feature a Carondelet Parent Panel to answer your questions. Coming to a meeting will also earn Freshman Families one point. First Fathers Club Meeting in September

Start the 2026–27 school year right with our first meeting on Tuesday, September 15 at 6:30 PM in the Jean Hofmann Center for Innovation. We will have a 15-minute speaker, dinner, beverages, and find out what our dads are up to. Freshman Dads will earn one point for coming to the meeting. RSVP today! See you there!

Fall Sports Liturgy 

Fall student-athletes, join your fellow athletes at our Fall Sports Liturgy on Tuesday, September 1, from 8:15 to 9:00 AM. We will gather in the Garaventa at 8:15 AM. Attire is a school-approved uniform. All fall rostered athletes are required to attend. 

Team Parent Volunteers 

Parents: Often throughout the sport season, coaches need extra help with logistics such as planning team dinners, organizing events, etc. If you plan to volunteer, you must complete the parent volunteer clearance.

Camp Alpha Frosh Retreat: Friday, September 18

Camp Alpha is a foundational retreat experience that helps ease the transition into high school and often paves the way for strong friendships. Ven a Ver Immersion Information

Interested in learning more about social justice issues? Consider participating in a Ven a Ver Immersion trip in the 2026–27 school year! Ven a Ver immersions are justice-focused trips rooted in education, reflection, and action. This year, we will have immersion trips to Washington, DC, Chicago, and the Salinas Valley. Review this Ven a Ver info doc for more information on each trip.

The Wellness Team is excited to welcome new and returning students back to campus! The Cannon Wellness Center is a supportive and welcoming space where students can connect, recharge, and participate in daily wellness activities during break, lunch, or after school. Individual counseling appointments are also available as needed.

Students and parents are encouraged to reach out to a wellness counselor with questions or concerns about emotional health and well-being. Visit the Cannon Wellness Center webpage for links to resources, student appointment request form, and our Virtual Cannon Wellness site.

Seniors:

• Seniors should schedule and attend mandatory 15-minute check-ins with their College Counselor between August 24 and September 3 to discuss their college plans and application progress. Check-ins can be scheduled through each counselor’s schedule link on the College Counseling website.
• We will be hosting HOWL, our college application lab, again! Stop by College Counseling to ask questions and work on your college applications with friends! Upcoming HOWLs will be on:
• Monday, August 31, from 11:20 AM to 12:00 PM
• Wednesday, September 2, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM

Freshmen & Transfer Students:

• College Counseling will host a Freshmen & Transfer Student Lunch and Learn in the library on Wednesday, September 2, where they can learn how to set themselves up for success as a student at Carondelet and learn about the programming we offer in College Counseling. Students can register here using their school-issued Gmail account.

All Students:

• College reps will start visiting Carondelet and De La Salle campuses in August. All juniors and seniors can attend these presentations with teacher approval and a filled-out pass at least 48 hours in advance. Make sure to check Maia Learning weekly for up-to-date information on visits and to register.
• The Out-of-State College Fair is tomorrow, Monday, August 24, from 2:15 to 3:30 PM. This will be an incredible opportunity to meet with college representatives and ask questions about their universities. Here are some of the colleges and universities that you can expect to meet!
• The Jesuit Excellence College Tour (JET) will be on Tuesday, September 22, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. Stop by and learn more about Jesuit colleges. 
• Throughout the year, College Counseling will have a variety of grade-level-specific programming. Dates and details for all future college-related events will be on the College Counseling calendar, in the weekly eNews, and in the College Counseling Weekly Update emails. You may also find our College Curriculum here:
