Project Connect Event in Mesa Serves Over 100 People in Need

Thanks to the Mesa LDS Interstake Center, 62 volunteers were able to serve 110 individuals experiencing homelessness on August 16th. Fifteen organizations offered programs and resources with 244 unique services provided. For example, Homeless ID Project connected 29 people with identification/vital records. ASU’s Sex Trafficking Intervention Research Office connected a woman with immediate counseling and resources. Arizona Pet Project and Animals and Humans in Disaster were able to provide support for the furry friends.

HSC thanks all of the partners who provided a range of holistic services. And a special thanks to JustServe for providing many of the volunteers! Lastly, our gratitude to Valley of the Sun United Way for funding support that helps to make Project Connect events possible. It’s collaboration in action!

The Next ThirstAid Donation Drop-off is September 2nd

Homeless ID Project to Co-host Event

Temperatures are expected to increase again this week, and summer is far from over. Campus partners will distribute at least 120,000 bottles of water per month through October to help clients stay hydrated and healthy. The next bottled water donation drop-off is Saturday, September 2nd from 9 am to noon. We are keeping it simple: You pull up at 15th Avenue & Harrison Street, and staff will remove the donations from your vehicle. We also welcome travel-sized toiletries, adult summer clothing and shoes, new men's / women's underwear, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and lip balm.  For more information or to schedule a drop-off on a different day, please email volunteer@hsc-az.org or call us at 602-282-0849.

Take a Tour of the Campus

Have you visited the Campus yet? If not, we invite you to see the day-to-day work done by the collective of 16 organizations working together to end homelessness. The first Wednesday of every month at 9:00 am we offer tours of the 13-acre Campus. The next available tour is September 6th.
