Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost

The new program year is just around the corner!

As we stand on the threshold of a new chapter, I'm thrilled to announce the impending restart of our church program year in just two weeks' time. This upcoming season marks a special opportunity for us to come together once again – a time of renewal, discipleship, and fellowship as we collectively follow Jesus' path of boundless love, grace, charity, and mercy.

The approaching fall season brings with it the revival of some of our most cherished programs, including the parish retreat at Shrine Mont, the women's Advent retreat, Theology on Tap, and the enchanting Live Nativity. Moreover, the entire parish will unite in celebration of the Feast of St. Francis on October 1st, marking that day with a special intergenerational activity that will allow us to honor our role as stewards of God's creation, right here at The Falls Church.

Our commitment doesn't end there. The heartbeat of our parish lies in the countless ministries and committees dedicated to fostering racial justice, outreach, Invite Welcome Connect, and various other meaningful pursuits. This is where our faith comes to life, where our values shape actions that resonate far beyond our immediate surroundings. So, if you feel the calling to contribute your time and talents to any ministry at The Falls Church, please don't hesitate to reach out to our clergy, vestry members, or our dedicated staff.

As we embark on this next chapter, we're eager to discern where the guidance of God's Spirit will lead us. Together, we have the potential to create ripples of impact, not only within our congregation but also in the world that surrounds us.

Finally, a friendly reminder that beginning Sunday, September 10th, our regular worship pattern will resume. We invite you to join us in the Contemporary Church at 9:00 a.m. or in the Historic Church at 11:15 a.m.

With hearts full of hope and anticipation, let's embrace the opportunities this new program year brings,

Matthew+

Ordination Reception

We are delighted to be hosting the ordination of priests for the Diocese of Virginia at The Falls Church on Saturday, September 9. As part of this there is a reception following the ordination for which we are asking for donations of food from all of the parishes involved in the ordination - sponsoring and receiving - as well as from our own members. You can sign up to provide one of the listed things, or to support the clean up following the service and reception here.

This is a very special day for those being ordained to the order of priesthood, we appreciate your support of them and the wider church.

All are welcome to join our choirs at The Falls Church.

The 9:00 a.m. service choir members meet at 8:15 a.m. in The Contemporary Church and learn the hymns and a simple choir anthem for that morning. A good ear and ability to match pitch are needed, along with a willingness to learn. Children (10+) are welcome too!

The 11:15 a.m. service choir rehearses on Thursday evenings, 7:00 -8:30 p.m. and meet in The Historic Church at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays. We explore a range of repertoire in the Anglican tradition, both new and old. Some choral experience and an ability to read music are helpful.
