Fall Connection Classes

Do you have a unique skill, a favorite hobby, or a passion you love sharing with others? Whether it's woodworking, baking, creative writing, photography, financial stewardship, painting, or a deep dive into scripture, your talent can bring people together!

This October, we are hosting our Fall Connection Sessions - a 6 week series of enrichment and interesting classes designed to foster fellowship and learning. This year we are excited to expand our reach by opening classes not just to our congregation, but to neighbors and friends from churches across our entire District. The classes will begin the 1st week of October and finish the week of November 16th.

Grief Support Group

Gena Callahan, who leads our Special Olympics Area 24 program, also manages a large team of Hospice facilities in Virginia.

Our Leadership Team overwhelmingly approved Gena’s request to start a monthly Grief Cafe. This is a new Mission for our church

and well-needed. Tell your friends and bring a friend!

Fellowship Hall, corner room with sofas, adjacent to our Theater.

Volunteers for Food for Thought

Food for Thought is looking for volunteers on Wednesdays to assist with packing meal bags distributed to local schools (such as Heritage High School). If you are interested in volunteering, you may go to the website:



Parkviewmission.volunteerhub.com.

Here you will need to click on the events block and select Meal Bag Packing. There are many dates open, so you will need to find a date that would

work for you and sign up.

This event takes place at The Plaza, Lower Level

2323 Memorial Avenue, Suite 27.

It’s time to fill the Teal Bags!!

During the month of September, we will be collecting food items for Park View’s Food for Thought.



3 easy steps:



1. Grab a teal bag, located in the Narthex.

2. Scan the QR code for a list of needed items.

3. Return your bag to the bin in the Narthex.

Discovery Music

This coming Sunday, the Discovery Band will open with Come Thou Fount (I Will Sing),

a song we've heard them perform before and one that everyone loves. It is a Chris Tomlin song and is based on the old, familiar hymn.

The closing song before the Benediction will be Make Room. Both of these songs are about surrender. Come Thou Fount is a modern retelling of grace, wandering, and God's faithfulness. Make Room is more about active surrender, clearing space for God, and letting Him reorder our lives.

The Date for the Annual HUMC Yard Sale and Brunswick Stew Has Been Moved!!

The day for this year's yard sale and Brunswick Stew will be the 2nd Saturday in October,

which is October 10th!!!
