In-kind Donations Help Clients
during Journey to Housing
Providing clients with items like clothing, shoes and hygiene items has always been an important component of helping people end their homelessness. During the pandemic, providing these basic essentials has become even more important. Our Donations Center on the Campus is set up to receive your in-kind gifts; clothing and related items are laundered, and all items are sorted by gender, size, etc. for distribution to clients. With over 800 clients seeking services every day, we go through these items quickly. Currently, our biggest need is for women and men's undergarments, as well as travel-size soap, shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste. Please call 602-282-0849 if you would like to schedule a donation drop-off at our Donations Center. For a complete list of ongoing needs, click here.

Thank you!

Managing Weather Relief Amidst
COVID-19 and Extreme Heat
Collaboration in Action!

  • As record-setting temperatures continue this week in Phoenix, the summer weather relief spaces continue to operate at St. Vincent de Paul, Lodestar Day Resource Center and 1 W. Madison. The total capacity is a little over 200 people per night. These spaces will be open for shelter through September 30th.

  • The Safe Outdoor Space (County parking lots) continue to operate for unsheltered people at 9th Avenue and Madison to provide socially distanced spaces with 24/7 security and hygiene/sanitation services. Nearly 200 individuals are staying here.

  • The HSC continues to provide masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, bottled water and disposable gowns for clients, staff and partner agencies as needed.

  • We continue to provide COVID-19 screening at entry to the Campus, with referral to Circle the City for anyone who answers yes to the questions/ has a fever over 100.4 degrees. Clients in shelter are required to wear a face mask. Clients are offered face masks at entry to the Campus, in the Brian Garcia Welcome Center, and in the Lodestar Day Resource Center.

A big thanks to all of our partners for their flexibility and adaptability for our collective clients! We are inspired by the dedication and problem solving of our employees. Stay safe and heathy!
