Kentucky Renter Help Portal from KEJC
The Kentucky Equal Justice Center (KEJC) has launched the Kentucky Renter Help online tool to help renters, lawyers, and allies in Kentucky take action to help prevent evictions.

Persons facing eviction can use the tool to:
  • Get connected to their local legal aid organization for more help;
  • Get the contact information for their local court clerk;
  • Get more information about eviction and helpful links; and
  • Generate a document to demand a jury trial (those won't begin until October 1, at least) and other documents to help renters work with their landlord to avoid eviction and contest the eviction in court if they don't have legal assistance.
Attorneys can use the tool to:
  • Sign up to help people facing eviction, or
  • Generate an Answer and Jury Demand, spot issues, and create letter and pleading templates if they have clients already facing eviction.
The Kentucky Renter Help Portal also provides resources for Kentuckians  who want to help people facing eviction during a global pandemic and economic crisis.
HOME and HTF Annual Rent Approval Due September 11, 2020
Multifamily HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) and National Housing Trust Fund (NHTF)-funded projects still in their affordability period are required to submit an annual HOME Annual Rent Approval Form and NHTF Rent Approval Form, which are located on the Asset Management page of Kentucky Housing Corporation's (KHC) website. The 2013 HOME Final Rule is an amendment to 24 CFR 92.252(f)(2) -HOME and 24 CFR 93-302 - NHTF, which requires that a Participating Jurisdiction (PJ) review and approve rents for each HOME and NHTF-assisted project annually to ensure that the project complies with the HOME and NHTF rent limits, and to prevent undue increases that would result in a hardship for the residents.

The HUD-published HOME and NHTF rent limits have an effective release date of July 1, 2020.
If you have any questions or need help completing the form, please contact Lisa Babb or Eva Dicken at 502-564-7640, extension 252 or 263, respectively; or email [email protected] or [email protected], respectively.

All completed form packages must be emailed to [email protected] by 5 p.m. ET on Friday, September 11, 2020. Failure to submit the HOME and NHTF Rent form could result in a finding and/or being placed on KHC's Suspension and Debarment List.
