If you attended Community Circle last spring or if you attend church or read this newsletter on a regular basis, you've probably heard about Mindfulness and Positivity Project (MPP). Also, you've probably heard about how Chapel of Our Saviour has been hosting MPP workshops and parent meetings in Allen House (our parish house). Mindfulness and Positivity Project, which offers workshops, retreats and courses for public school educators, support staff, and parents in Colorado Springs, provides the opportunity for attendees to learn and practice mindfulness and, as their website so beautifully states, to cultivate lives that are full, healthy and happy.
For the past year, MPP groups have been meeting in Casey Hall (and on the south terrace of Allen House when the weather is nice) for half-day workshops as well as weekly one-hour parent meetings. We have been providing them with meeting space and serving them coffee, breakfast, and lunch. On Friday August 4, we had Susanna's Comfort Cuisine, a gourmet food truck, serving lunch for MPP's support staff workshop (see pic above)! So much fun and we are looking forward to more lunches like this...
Hosting MPP's events has been made possible by a generous grant from the Creel-Harison Foundation in Atlanta, GA. This grant is also funding our Community Cafe’ (see below for more info).
