๐Dear VAA Family!
Wowโtwo weeks at VAA are already behind us, and what a meaningful start to our school year it has been.
As I reflect on this past week, my heart is heavy over the tragic school shooting in Minnesota, where two children lost their lives. No parent should ever fear sending their child to school, and no child should feel unsafe in a place of learning. At VAA, we continue to pray for Godโs protection over our students, families, and staff, and our prayers are with all those directly impacted by this tragedy. I hold on to the promise in Psalm 46:1, โGod is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.โ
Even in the midst of sorrow, we are thankful for the blessings God has given us this week at VAA. Back-to-School Night was a success, with only three families unable to attend. If you were not able to make it, please stop by the office to pick up your copy of the school handbook.
We were also blessed to have our chapel led by Pastor Kosly, who came out on his birthday to share ways our students can continue to shine bright. His message was both inspiring and practical, and we are so grateful for his ministry.
I am also thrilled to announce the upcoming opening of our Innovation Lab! We will celebrate with a special Prayer & Dedication Service on Friday, September 13, at 6:30 PM. Please plan to join us as we cut the ribbon and dedicate this new space to Godโs glory. Right afterward, please stay for the Welcome Back Party sponsored by Home & School.
Today, we wrapped up our week with Field Day. The students had a wonderful time showing teamwork, sportsmanship, and joy as they played together. It was such a blessing to see their lights shining brightly as they encouraged one another.
As we head into the Labor Day weekend, I pray for your safety, rest, and joy. We look forward to welcoming everyone back bright and early on Tuesday, September 3.
Shining Bright with You,
E Holland
