Reflections for Sunday:  Each week, Pastor Sarah will provide reflections on the readings for the following Sunday.

The readings for Sunday, September 1 center on hospitality and generosity. Hebrews 13 says, "Let mutual love continue.  Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. And later, "Do not neglect to do good and share what you have." In the gospel reading Jesus advises us to sit in lowly places at the banquet table and when we host a meal to invite people who need a meal, not those who can repay us.
+ When have you felt welcomed to a place?  Someone's home? A hotel? A church?
+ What do you do to welcome someone to your home?
+ What does Christian hospitality look like? What do we do at St. Paul to show Christian hospitality to one another? To visitors?

Family Devotion:  Each week, Pastor Sarah will provide a short devotion for families based on the reading for the following Sunday.

Read: Luke 14:1, 7-14

Bring it homeHere are some questions or activities to help you think and talk about the reading as a family.

+ How do you help someone feel welcome when you invite them to your house? What helps you feel comfortable at someone else's house?

+ Think of someone you would like to spend time with. What would they like to do? How can you help them feel welcome at your house?

Pray:  Consider lighting a candle or having a cross to look at while you pray. Have someone pray this prayer:
"Dear God, thank you for our friends. Thank you for the strangers we meet who might become our friends. Help us to be kind to everyone. Amen!"

SPLASH information coming soon!
Sunday School starts September 8, 2019 and is available for kids ages 4 through 4th grade. To ensure we have enough supplies and volunteers, we ask that you fill out a registration form for your child and return to the church office. Registration forms can be downloaded here or found in the Narthex.

We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate the classes on Sunday mornings. We will have sign ups in the near future for specific dates. However, if you are available for our first class on September 8th, please contact  and indicate your availability.

Additionally, we are looking for guest readers to read the bible story to the kids at the beginning of each class. We are encouraging those without kids in the classes to participate as a way to engage the kids with others in the congregation. This would be a 10 to 15 minute commitment at the beginning of the class. If you are interested in reading, please contact Katie or Chris with your availability or with any questions you may have.

Also, this year we are using the Spark Children's Bible to teach from. We will be ordering a few to be used in classes and are opening up ordering to anyone who wants a bible. The cost is $19.99 per bible. Order forms can be found here or in the Narthex and are due back by September 15, 2019.

Please contact Chris Clark or Katie Fetterly with any questions.
