Administrative Information

Action Required for All TCGIS Families

In an effort to maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, we are requiring ALL students to have updated and complete immunization records returned to school by the first day of class, August 29. Please use our attached file to submit your child/ren's updated immunization records. We understand that some of you may have already handed these in, however we are requiring the most recent immunization record for each and every student and we greatly appreciate your compliance with this request. Records can be turned into the office via email, snail mail, fax or in person. Vielen Dank to the families who have already done so already!

Returning Student E-Registration for 2016-2017

Great news - returning student registration is now paperless! E-Registration can be found on the left-hand menu of the Powerschool Parent Portal, and with it you can easily update any and all student information for your kids. All families are asked to complete this for each student by the first day of school, August 29. Need some help? We will be available during the Open House if you have any questions.

August/September Ordering Opens Monday, August 8!

Log on to our online store and place your child(ren)'s Bus, Kinderclub and School Lunch/Milk order starting 08/8/16. All orders are due by midnight on Friday, August 19 .

Last Few Days to Order Bulk Supplies Through TCGIS

As of this writing, about 200 students will be getting their school supplies dropped off in their classrooms for them this year. Over 120 families are finding new summer-end traditions instead of hunting for bargains. But it isn't too late to join them! The Class Supply Bulk Order is open for another few days.

Simply follow this link, and fill out all the required fields. The school will purchase, sort and deliver the supplies. The amount you commit to will be added to your Order Lunches account beginning in August.

Please note: The order will cover all items that are academic in nature. The more personal items listed below are included in the supply lists, but will not be ordered by the school, so please refer to the supply list and make sure you supply the following items for your student(s):

Backpack
Sport/Hausschuhe
Lunchbox
Snack containers
Water bottles
Paint shirt (elementary school)
Ear buds (middle school)

Letter for All Kindergarten Families

If you are a new or current family with a Kindergartener starting this August, please click here for a letter from the Kindergarten Team! This letter has already been sent via email, but contains important information that we want to make sure all Kindergarten families see.

Application for Educational Benefits

Please find the information letter and the application form for the free and reduced lunch program for the 2016-2017 school year. Click here for the instructions. Applications can be submitted at any time during the school year, however to receive free/reduced school lunches for the 1st day of school, we would like to ask you to submit your application form no later than August 15, 2016 .

Job Posting Update

TCGIS is currently seeking a .5 FTE (20 hours per week) Lunch Server and multiple German-speaking Paraprofessionals for the 2016-17 school year. Summer Weeding Day - Volunteers Needed

Before the summer vacation is completely gone, our school's rain gardens and raspberry beds need weeding! Many hands make for a lighter load, and we can all take pride in the school grounds when they are looking good.

Any adults or children ready to get their hands a bit dirty are welcome to join us on Saturday, August 6, from 8 - 11:30 AM, to pull weeds by the fistful. Bring your garden gloves, a water bottle (we can refill!) and any tools you prefer. We have a few trowels available, but likely not enough for all. For more info, email [email protected].

Board Member Appointee

The board is currently seeking applicants for a one-year board appointment. Ted Johnson is unfortunately stepping down, and the TCGIS By-laws state that a new board director shall be appointed by the board. Ted has been a great contributing member of the TCGIS community, and his financial expertise has been a great boon for the school; he will be missed.

Because of Ted's specific expertise, the board will likely give preference to candidates with training and/or experience in finance, especially in non-profit organizations, but any interested party should feel encouraged to apply. The board would like to make this appointment as soon as possible, hopefully no later than the August board meeting.

News for the TCGIS Lunchroom

Although the start of school is still a few weeks away, the TCGIS Lunch Program has been busy getting ready for your first lunch order beginning August 8! Similar to last year, ordering will take place through OrderLunches.com , and you will receive an email to let you know the order window is open.

We are pleased to have Lancer Dining Services providing healthy meals to the TCGIS students again this year. Please read this Welcome Letter from Lancer to kick off their 2016-2017 School Lunch Service Program.

In addition, please take a moment to read the letter from the TCGIS Lunch Team about important information and/or changes to the Lunch Program for 2016-2017. We appreciate your support, and look forward to another year of serving healthy meals to our students!
