Summer vacation time is almost over and practice for the new choir season will start before the month is over.

Do you like to sing? New members are always welcome. Come to a choir practice to sing and praise the Lord.

The Director is John Carmichael, please contact him or any other choir member if you have any questions.

The first Choir practice is Wednesday evening starting at 7pm, August 24.

The Choir meets in the chapel.

Tuesday Afternoon Study Group to Start

Fall is quickly approaching and the Tuesday afternoon study

group is planning to start up again. Are you interested in the Bible and other religious studies? Or just want to be part of a friendly group, you are invited. If you are free one Tuesday afternoon a month, please think about coming to the group.

Everyone is welcome, men and women. The leader is Deacon Linda Yeager. The group meets from 1 to 3pm. Which Tuesday of the month to continue to meet will be decided at the first meeting.

Please plan on coming to the group's first meeting, which is

Tuesday, August 23 starting at 1pm and ending at 3pm in the church parlor. The topic for the fall is Corinthians I & II.

THANK YOU to all those who helped at Hospice Dinner.

It was fun to see different faces.

The next Dinner will be August 29th

Theme it ITALY...lasagna, another pasta, salad, bread sticks and dessert

Sign up sheet will be on the bulletin board.

The Day School graduation lunch was a huge success this year! We have three heading off to kindergarten this month and we were able to celebrate with families, Carol and Hank from our Day School Board and church members Bob Maynard and Art LaGrange. A HUGE thank you to Bob and Art for putting together our cupcake desserts and lending a hand getting our lunch together and cleaned up. It’s always a blessing when people show up to support our children!

Would you like to serve on the Worship Committee? We meet about four times a year to plan the special worship services and to discuss any changes to our regular worship. You don’t have to be a musician or an expert, you just need to have an interest in how this community of faith worships.

Contact Fr. Jonathan [email protected]

Bunco will take place on August 13 at 1 pm. Contact the office at 816-942-1066 or [email protected] for more information about the fun!!

Fr. Jonathan and Ann had a great vacation in Colorado last week. Among many highlights, they attended performances at the Aspen Music Festival and the Snowmass Rodeo. Hiking and gondola rides were regular activities.

Fr. Jonathan says, “Thank you very much for the paid time off. My pneumonia was a challenge at altitude but I have improved every day and am now back to normal. I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday.”

The automatic door opener on the lower entrance is malfunctioning. New parts are on order, but until then, please do not use the handicap function on the lower entrance door.

Invitation to all women of St. Peter & All Saints:

You are invited to the St. Abigail's Chapter of Daughters of the King meeting on Monday, August 22nd at 7 pm in the parlor. Come to find out what the Daughters of the King are about and share some bonding time with your STPAAS sisters. All are welcome!

From the Junior Warden

Just a note to let everyone know what is going on at the church. We are in the progress of getting bids for the parlor A/C and furnace. A leaking drain pipe has been repaired. This was the cause of our lighting problems a few weeks ago.

We finally found a company to repair the lower doors. By the time you read this they will hopefully be repaired. Just found a water leak in front of the church between the water meter and church. We will call our plumber to ascertain the needed repairs. We are waiting on bids to replace a main electrical bus and bids to upgrade the electrical panel in the sacristy. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.

Thanks,

Clay Glenn
