WELCOME JESSICA!

Jessica Nuñez-LaMarre joins us as our new Children’s Ministry Coordinator with a deep love for God, a passion for nurturing young hearts, and a lifelong commitment to faith, justice, and spiritual growth. As a mother, spiritual scholar, and advocate for holistic well-being, Jessica believes children are not just the future—they are powerful vessels of love and justice today.

With over a decade of experience leading spiritual programs, designing educational workshops, and mentoring others, Jessica brings both structure and soul to her work. She holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Women, Gender, Spirituality, and Social Justice from the California Institute of Integral Studies. This unique blend of technical expertise and heart-centered leadership allows her to create inclusive, affirming spaces where children feel safe, seen, and inspired.

Jessica hopes to help the children of Dayspring build a strong foundation—one rooted in compassion, courage, and a deep understanding that their faith can carry them through challenges and empower them to be agents of change in their schools, homes, communities, and the world.

We are honored to welcome Jessica to the Dayspring family and excited for the joy, wisdom, and vision she brings to our children’s ministry.

INVITATION TO DIVINE FEMININE CONVERSATION

This Sunday, August 10, will be the last of our three summer conversations on 2nd Sundays to share our understanding of the Divine Feminine. In June we focused on recovering our Divine Feminine images of God; in July we focused on goddess mythology to glean its wisdom. This week we will focus on how we understand the ways we embody the Divine Feminine.

All are welcome to share in this conversation at 8:50 a.m. in the Palo Verde room. We look forward to seeing you. In September we begin our regularly scheduled Divine Feminine Celebrations on 2nd Sundays.

STEP UP SUNDAY

Sunday, August 17, is Step Up Sunday! Our “official” return of the school year, all children and youth advance to their next classes on this date. Watch for room assignments coming soon! Please email Jessica with questions or if you are interested in helping assist in one of our Children’s Sunday school classes.

FOOD BASKET & FLOWERS

Do you have a special event coming up? Why not sponsor our Sunday flowers ($42) or a food basket ($20) to support Tempe Community Action Agency. It's a great opportunity celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or honor a loved one while contributing to our worship and community outreach.

You can sign up HERE, pay by check or online at dayspringumc.org/give, and take the flowers home after the service. After signing up, please email the church office with your bulletin message (in honor, memory, or celebration). Thank you for your generosity!

SUMMER CHOIR

Do you love to sing? If you’ve ever wanted to sing with the Dayspring Choir, summer is the perfect time to jump in. Our Summer Choir sings at the 10:00am service on the first and third Sundays of the month—with no weekday rehearsals! Just come at 9:20am on the morning of the service to learn the song and warm up. The choir sings this Sunday, August 17, and we’d love to have you with us. Interested? Email David for more details!

HEAT RELIEF DONATION DRIVE

Please bring in water bottles, electrolyte drinks, and nutritional snacks to support Tempe Cooling Centers this 2025 summer. We're also collecting hygiene products, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, socks, board games and books.
