Back to School Night
The school year is about to begin and we are so excited! We hope you will join us at Back to School Night on Thursday, August 23rd from 6:30-8pm. Come drop off school supplies, meet your teacher, learn about our new dismissal app PikMyKid, learn about the TCGIS PTO, grab a calendar, and reconnect with old friends!
Class lists will be sent out via email on Monday, August 20th. |

TCGIS is pleased to kick off our first fundraiser of the new school year! We've arranged for customized "All Are Welcome Here" yard signs to be made for TCGIS - in German! Signs are $20 each and are a perfect way to share the message of inclusivity, respect, love and dignity for all, while promoting German and TCGIS!! We've ordered a limited supply of these yard signs, which are available for PRE-ORDER ONLY from the
TCGIS Square Store. Share this link with neighbors, friends, grandparents, uncles and aunts can purchase too!
Order online on or before August 23rd and and pick up your sign during the Back To School evening on August 23rd. Signs will be available for pick up in the foyer outside the office. Sorry, no shipping.

Facilities Committee - Exterior Design Survey
The facility committee invites you to complete the
Exterior Design Survey. This information will be used by the design team and project architect to develop the exterior design plans. Survey will be open until
August 25th, 2018. The survey was created with the help of a small focus group comprised of neighbors, board members, TCGIS parents, TCGIS administration and some district 10 community council members. Thank you for volunteering your time.

TCGIS Seeking Substitute Teachers
We are seeking substitute teachers for the 2018-19 school year!
Substitute teaching is a great way to connect with the TCGIS community, utilize or build German speaking skills, and make a valuable contribution to our students' learning.
If you are interested in applying for the position, please send a letter of interest, a current resume, and two letters of recommendation to Gael Braddock (
gbraddock@tcgis.org).
Substitute teaching requires a Short Call Substitute License through Minnesota Department of Education. If you do not currently have this license, you can find more information on obtaining the license

Join Us for the Twin Cities Oktoberfest 5K!
Bring your Lederhosen and Dirndls! Welcome to the Twin Cities Oktoberfest 5K Fun Run Walk! The event will be held around Como Lake. After the race, head on over to Gabe's by the Park to celebrate Oktoberfest 2018. A beer or non-alcoholic drink ticket is included with race entry! Come dressed in your Oktoberfest best if you'd like! Proceeds from the race will benefit the Twin Cities German Immersion School. Click here to register today!

PLAY: Houdini Sandbox Theatre returns to the GAI with Houdini, a world premier outdoor aerial play, and the first production by Sandbox Theatre's new aerial program, The Swingset.
Aug. 15 @ 7pm on the GAI lawn. Tickets are pay-what-you- will and are sold on-site.
