Garden Street Safety Improvement Project

Thank You For Attending

Porter Mobile.jpg

Thank you to everyone who attended the third community meeting about the Garden Street Safety Improvement Project on August 9!

If you were unable to attend, we have posted the meeting materials to the project page:

Preferred Design: Option 3

Based on the feedback we've received, we will move forward with Option 3 as the preferred layout for the corridor. Option 3 converts Garden Street to a one-way for vehicles eastbound (toward Cambridge Common) between Huron Avenue and Concord Avenue. Bike lanes will still travel in both directions, with a one-way separated bike lane on each side of the street.

Next Community Meeting: September 20

On Tuesday, September 20 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., we will hold our fourth community meeting to discuss safety improvements to Garden Street from Huron Avenue to Mason Street.

During the meeting, we will:

  • Present the preferred layout for Garden Street (Option 3)
  • Explain planned changes for each section of the project, including at intersections
  • Discuss the implementation timeline
  • Give you an opportunity to ask questions and provide additional feedback

Open House on September 22

In addition to the fourth community meeting, we will hold an open house near the project area on Thursday, September 22. No new information will be shared at the meeting; instead, community members will be able to drop by in person to talk to city staff and view plans. We will share more information on the location in the coming weeks.

About the Project

Through this quick-build project, we will install separated bike lanes along Garden Street from Huron Avenue to Mason Street near Cambridge Common.
