New Multi Purpose Turf Field for Poly
While students were away from campus enjoying their summer break, a new turf field was installed in Lumsden/Scott Stadium on the campus of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute. The old field was worn out after many games were played on it by Poly, and other schools without turf fields. The new field is being lined for multi use such as soccer, lacrosse and football. If anyone is interested in visiting this portion of our campus and might be interested in helping out, please contact Mr. Phil Thompson, Athletic Director at Poly. Phil can be reached by email at To read more about the new field, click here.
Poly Cadets in Action
On June 13, 74 Poly cadets were certified in CPR and AED by their JROTC instructors. During this skills-based course, cadets covered a variety of topics. After completing a written assessment, cadets had to correctly demonstrate each skill for certification. With these skills, cadets are now prepared to respond in a first aid emergency.
On June 22-26, four Poly cadets traveled to Washington, D.C. to compete in the 2018 JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) championship. Poly's team was one of only 16 Air Force finalists in the competition, representing the top 5% of 327 participating Air Force JROTC units from across the nation. On day one of JLAB, Poly's team went head to head against nine other teams in a round robin tournament facing questions in the areas of: literature, mythology and language, algebra, geometry, probability and statistics, biology, chemistry, physics and other sciences, history, geography and social sciences, as well as U.S. and foreign current events. While the team did not advance to the quarterfinals, the cadets gained valuable experience that can be shared with future Poly teams. They also enjoyed the opportunity to spend time in our nation's Capitol, visiting monuments and memorials, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Air and Space Museum. Congratulations Team Poly!

2018 Poly/City Golf Tournament Recap
On Monday, July 16th, 103 golfers took part in the 31st Annual Poly/City Golf Tournament. Unlike the previous several years, weather did not play as big a factor in this year's event! An enjoyable time was had by all and with the support of hole sponsors, corporate sponsors and lunch/dinner sponsors, a profit was made which will be split between the two schools based on the numbers of players representing each school. While this tournament is not a big profit maker, it serves as a friend raiser, gathering alumni from both schools and encouraging them to participate in other activities and to give back to their alma maters.

For more pictures and stats from the event, please click here. We look forward to seeing you all next year (Monday August 5, 2019) for the 32nd Annual Tournament. Thanks to everyone for your support!
Alumni Corner: Michael William Fisher '76
Michael William Fisher graduated from Polytechnic's College Preparatory Course in June 1976. Msgr. Fisher celebrated his 25th anniversary as a priest in 2015. In 2005, Msgr.
