MAA President's Message
| |
As we head into August, Martinez’s favorite art event of the year is right around the corner! As you all know, Art in the Park is a celebration of creativity that brings together artists, musicians, community organizations, and neighbors for a day of art, music, food, and fun. Thanks to the dedication of our artists and volunteers, this event continues to grow in both scale and spirit, and I would personally like to thank everyone who has helped us bring some art to the park!
We invite you to join us on Sunday, August 17, from 10 AM to 5 PM at Susana Park. Whether you’re coming to enjoy the festivities, to share your art, or perhaps to lend a hand, your presence helps strengthen the vibrant arts community we’re building here in Martinez. If you’re able to volunteer for a short shift during the event, you can sign up here.
We look forward to celebrating with you, and to honoring the creativity and collaboration that make events like this possible. See you on August 17th!

Meet Some of the Art in the Park Community!
Many of the 60+ vendors who are exhibiting at this year's event return year after year. One example is local artist and art instructor Patsy Taylor and over 20 of her students who fill up three booth spaces with their creative work. Many styles and sizes of art will be featured for sale.
Another returning vendor is local artist Laurie Mansur who will be showing new fused glass work including wallhangings, lanterns, and new "glow in the dark" pieces! Laurie is also a painter and will feature new 5" x 7" original watercolor paintings. Check out her work at LaurieMansurArt.com.
And with our amazing music line-up, SOUND is extremely important. We can relax knowing Steve Riccobono and his company Sound Travels Productions is on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly. This will be his 7th year running the sound at Art in the Park, one of his favorite events.
"I started Sound Travels Productions back in 2010 as just a side hobby to support local bands. My passion for live music grew and I saw the need to support local community events. I am now the Martinez go-to sound company supporting Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Martinez & Co,, the Martinez Arts Association and others. " Steve's website
