2020 August Buzz
We're Open Late!
Mornings and evenings are some of the best times to visit the Zoo! Many of the animals are more active in the mornings when the zoo keepers feed them and clean their areas, and some species, like the red pandas, are crepuscular, which means they’re naturally more active at the beginning and end of the day.

The Zoo is open from 10 am to 8 pm every day through August 31. We’re also open early for Member Mornings on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 10 am. Member Mornings do not require advance tickets.

Did you know you can also get discounted tickets on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5-7 pm? On Discount Nights, adults are $6.50 and children/seniors are $5.50.

Due to state regulations, you must enter the Zoo wearing a mask.

Register For Fall EdZOOcation Classes
Fall EdZOOcation classes are now open for registration. Starting in September, we will have classes for children ages 3-12 and adults 18 and up. There’s a virtual option for children ages 3-4.

Classes are always designed with age-appropriate games, learning, and animal encounters. Topics this fall range from learning about invasive species to animal homes to foxes to being a zoo keeper.

New this year, we’re also offering homeschool classes for children ages 6-9. Homeschool classes will be about endangered species.

Masks are required for all class participants for the duration of the class.

Times and prices vary, but as always, there is a discount for Zoo members.
Chill Out At The Zoo

Chill out at the Zoo with us on August 20 from 5-8 pm (last admission at 7 pm).

We’re welcoming Kona Ice Michiana, Let's Spoon Frozen Yogurt, and Wild Island Gelato to the Zoo so you can buy your favorite sweet treat. Our Cafe and bars will also be open so you can have dinner and a drink while you walk around. New this month, The Lark Comedy Institute Improv will be having fun on the Dragonfly Deck.

On the lawn near the otters, we’ll have activities like sprinklers, water buckets, and other fun watery things to do (you may want to be prepared for wet kids! It's hard to resist a sprinkler!)!

Regular admission is $11 for adults, $9 for children/seniors, free for babies 2 and under. Potawatomi Zoo Members are free.

Zoo Calendar Updates

Due to ongoing COVID-19 heath concerns, we are reworking many of our events for the rest of the Zoo season. The health of our staff, animals, and visitors is important to us, and we want to make sure everyone is able to have a good and safe time at the Zoo.

We will not be having Zoo Brew on September 26, but we are planning to have a fun event at the Zoo that day for families.

We will also be changing Zoo Boo this year, so please stay tuned to find out what we’re doing to make this Halloween season fun and safe.

The best place to find the most recent event updates is on the Zoo's Facebook page or website.
