The BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) invites all manufacturers of BACnet products to attend the Annual PlugFest Interoperability Workshop at The University of New Hampshire's InterOperability Lab in Durham, NH.
This interoperability event permits vendors to test their BACnet products with BACnet devices from other vendors in a neutral and friendly environment, improving their BACnet implementation and testing methods.
PlugFest will run from Tuesday, October 3rd - Thursday, October 5th.
The BACnet Testing Laboratories Working Group (BTL WG) will be meeting on Monday, October 2nd prior to the start of PlugFest. If you are interested in joining the BTL WG Meeting, please RSVP HERE (separate registration than PlugFest).

Cybersecurity Acceleration Program

The first webinar is FREE on YouTube for all interested parties, however, future webinars and program tools and components will only be available to paid program participants. The cost of the program is typically less than a week of an engineer's time. Designed for manufacturers, the Cybersecurity Acceleration Program aims to reduce their cybersecurity implementation learning curve and align their product development with industry direction on interoperability and best practices.
The program includes reference implementation and source code components including:
- Certificate Authority (CA) server
- Certificate Signing Request (CSR) generation and validation tool
- Machine readable, interoperable certificate file format

This month's featured TBI resource is the Interoperable Security Management webinar #1. This webinar, part of the Cybersecurity Acceleration Program, gives you the opportunity to learn from vendors and end customers about the challenges and needs they see in building security management and how this program will help provide the knowledge and tools to meet those needs.

The BACnet Institute (TBI) is an online portal for BACnet-focused learning and knowledge sharing. It provides an easy path to BACnet information and learning for everyone involved with BACnet systems. The portal includes three on-demand FREE courses and over 160 resources including white papers, articles, presentations and a community forum. TBI Resources are free, but registration for an account is required. Courses are eligible for CEUs and PDHs.
Each year TBI continues to grow. Since its launch in January 2017, over 6,000 registered users across more than 80 countries have accessed its resources. TBI’s simple search function allows users to get quick access to anything they need.

In 2016 Reliable Controls released RC-RemoteAccess®, a first-of-its-kind BACnet Virtual Private Network (B/VPN) software solution to harden BACnet building automation networks and protect them from malicious actors. Not only did it protect systems from threats, but also it was effortless to use and implement. Now, with the release of software version 3.6.1, RC-RemoteAccess acts as a BACnet Secure Connect (B/SC) hub in addition to providing B/VPN support.
