Meet Our Team: Carlette Lewis
We’d like to introduce our new Director of Community Relations and Partnerships, Carlette Lewis. 

In this new position, Carlette will focus on working in partnership with local leaders and organizations to provide social services, resources, and arts and culture opportunities for community needs, growth and well-being.

This is a great entry-level position for someone who wants to work in Promise Zone neighborhoods and support economic and community engagement activities.

Access Youth Academy is Open
Congrats to Access Youth Academy – its academic and athletics center is now open to the community!

Access Youth Academy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives through the sport of squash.

Our President and CEO, Reginald Jones, had the opportunity to tour Access Youth Academy with the Executive Director, Renato Paiva.

Visit the new facility at 404 Euclid Avenue on the corner of Guymon Street Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Southeast Art & Science Expo
Looking for a FREE fun, immersive experience that brings together science, technology, engineering, art, math and culture?

Join us tomorrow, Aug. 14 at the Southeast Science & Art Expo at the Malcolm X Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This FREE family-friendly event is for all ages and will include:
  • Hands-on science and art activities
  • Live demonstrations
  • Free books for youth
Annual 79th Assembly District Backpack Giveaway and Vaccination Clinic
Tomorrow, Aug. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., stop by Dr. Akilah Weber’s annual back giveaway at Horace Mann Middle School at 4345 54th Street.

In addition to free backpacks, there will be:
  • Free school supplies
  • Free helmet fittings and helmets
  • Free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for ages 12 and up – photo ID required

Registration for this event closes today at 3 p.m.
