Each year in early Spring, your Board submits an entry to Headquarters for a Chapter award.  This year, the Board compiled information from the events occurring April 2014-March 2015 and submitted for the category "Excellence in Programs and Forum Activities."  While we didn't win an award this year, we think you'll enjoy seeing the graphics summarizing our amazing year of events and charitable donations.  See the Chapter Award Submission

Engage fellow designers or friends and forward this email to them if they aren't members.  We'll gladly add them to this distribution list so they can be aware of upcoming events.

Letter from the IIDA  Carolinas  Chapter President 2015-16

IIDA Carolinas Chapter Members, Partners, and Industry Friends;

Whether you live in Charlotte or Charleston, work in Raleigh, Greenville, or Columbia, or you go to school in Greensboro or Boone, we all have one place in common and that is IIDA.  IIDA is a place to gain and share knowledge, a place for professional development, and a place to network.  The Carolinas Chapter of IIDA is committed to providing our Members with exceptional programs and events throughout the year, contributing to the success of interior designers and for the interior design profession in North and South Carolina.
IIDA is not just an organization, but a platform for its Members to learn and share.  We encourage all of our Members to be involved in both the local design community as well as internationally.  There are many Members who speak at events, write articles, and deliver CEUs all across the country.  But there are many more opportunities available, and I encourage you all to take advantage of them.  If you're interested in becoming more involved in our industry please contact me at
The Carolinas have a rich history of design, and a proud cultural heritage.  This combination makes us a passionate group that I am proud and excited to represent this year.  We have many exciting events on our calendar, including our bi-annual design awards in the spring of 2016, and plenty of opportunities to celebrate the Carolinas.

The Power of Place CEU
Presented by Jerry Holmes

The key to employee engagement is bringing people to together with a sense of purpose in a place that will help them achieve their best work. However the notion of place often goes overlooked, but when the workplace is designed to be a destination there are substantial gains in engagement and productivity to be had. To achieve this a workplace must be not just a location to do work, but a place that balances collaboration with privacy, fosters cognitive, emotional and physical wellbeing and offers choice and control. 1 CEU credit
