Savor Summer With Leadership

August 16: Coffee With Tim
Join Tim Payne, LHC's new President & CEO, at Whole Foods -Columbia on Tuesday, August 16 from 8 to 9 am for casual conversation over coffee (or your favorite morning beverage).
August 24: GM Happy Hour
Drop by Union Jack's Columbia for happy hour. Gather your classmates and plan to meet up with fellow alumni Wednesday, August 24 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

Recruiting Now for Leadership Essentials 2023
Loyola/Leadership Essentials (LE) is excited about the response to the program year kickoff and is looking forward to a diverse class of dynamic emerging leaders. To learn more about the 2023 program, attend an Information Breakfast (virtually via Zoom) on Thursday, August 18 from 8:30 to 9:30 am.

Find out how LE can benefit you and your organization!
  • Meet and network with other interested candidates, LE alumni, and representatives from sponsoring organizations.
  • Identify criteria to select an ideal candidate(s) from your organization.
  • Bring a friend or colleague.

RSVP to Lori Fuchs or via LE's Facebook Event. RSVPs are encouraged, but drop-ins are also welcome! Please visit LE's website for more information and to access the 2023 program application. Applications are due Monday, October 10 and the program starts in December 2022.
LHC's new Membership year began July 1 and runs through June 30. A new program year means it's time to renew dues or, for our newest Leadership Premier and Leadership Essentials graduates, it's time to join LHC's alumni network. Membership options are noted below:

  • Leadership 500 allows members to pay their annual dues and the up-front ticket costs to attend all of LHC's regular General Membership breakfast and lunch events, the Thought Leaders Speaker Series, and the Big Event. L500 rates range from the standard rate of $500 to $350 for retirees, those employed by a nonprofit with less than 25 employees, and Leadership Essential graduates. Also, L500 members earn double "Best Class Ever" points for paying dues.
  • Leadership Premier Standard/Business - $210
  • Leadership Premier Retiree & Non-Profits (with less than 25 employees) - $110
  • Leadership Essentials - $60

Community Events & Volunteer Opportunities
Ohana Howard County volunteers work with Howard County students to empower them to overcome barriers and achieve self-defined success. Learn more about the organization and how you can make a difference by attending a virtual information session on Thursday, August 11, beginning at

Prepare for Success is partnering with the Howard County Library System and the Columbia Association to collect school supplies for students in need. Click here for drop-off locations and needed supplies.
