August 2018: What's New
New Encompass website is now live!
This week, we launched our brand new, redesigned Encompass website. We hope that this new website will be a much more intuitive, user-friendly experience for all of you.

Here are a few new features we are particularly proud of:

  • A tool on the homepage and Programs page to help you locate which programs might be right for your family
  • An interactive events calendar that can be sorted by audience and event type
  • A library of resources to help families along their journeys
  • A page of Frequently Asked Questions, sorted by topic
  • Action buttons at the top of every page so you can go right to donating, registering, or paying
  • A Google Translate plugin that allows you to view the site in seven different languages

And so much more! We invite you to explore the website and read this blog post to learn more about the project. We hope that you will enjoy the new site and that you find it useful and informative!
Mobile Therapy Unit expands services into Carnation and Duvall
The Encompass Mobile Therapy Unit (MTU) is now going to Carnation and Duvall each week, bringing our pediatric therapy programs to the more rural communities in our service area. The therapies offered in the van are Behavioral Health and Speech and Language Therapy.

We currently have availability in Behavioral Health and are seeing new clients both in the MTU and at our Pediatric Therapy Clinic. If you are interested in receiving services at either of these locations, please call our intake coordinator at 425.888.3347.
Encompass Staff and Board Member Join Leadership Eastside
Leadership Eastside's next cohort will include three Encompass leaders: Board Member Katherine Ross, Director of Pediatric Therapy Programs Kim Kanzler, and Director of Administration Kristin Webb. The LE program inspires and prepares participants for the real-world challenges they must face to improve their organizations and their communities. Other Encompass staff who have gone through the program are Executive Director Nela Cumming, Director Finance Terry Granillo, and Director of Education Programs Rochelle Clayton Strunk.
Back-to-School Backpack Tips
Heading back to school means beginning the quest for school supplies. With so many different options, it can be overwhelming to decide which backpack will be best for your child's physical health.

To help you choose a backpack that is right for your child, our Clinic Team Supervisor Lindsey Batz shared some tips from the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) in a blog post on our website. She also share tips on how to best pack and wear backpacks.

PHPDA makes gift of sustaining support to Mobile Therapy Unit
Encompass is excited to share that we have received a Major Grant from the Pacific Hospital Preservation and Development Authority (PHPDA) in the amount of $50,000 to support the Encompass Mobile Therapy Unit (MTU). The first of its kind in the state of Washington, the MTU enables us to bring specialized therapy services right into the communities that need them, eliminating distance-based hardship as a barrier to quality care.

The mission of the Pacific Hospital Preservation & Development Authority is to champion effective health care for the vulnerable and disadvantaged in our community. We are honored to have been chosen to receive this Major Grant from the Pacific Hospital PDA.
