OUR KIDS ARE SPECIAL TO US

Our Wendy's Wonderful Kids Recruiter went out of her way to get one of the kids on her caseload, Joey, a bike he had been wanting.  A very kind gentleman in the community had donated the bike to NOAS for Joey.  It was such a pleasure to provide Joey with a bike to ride, but more importantly, a lasting memory.

988 NATIONAL SUICIDE AND CRISIS LIFELINE LAUNCHED IN JULY

People experiencing a mental health crisis can now call or text a three-digit number, 988, to reach the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and connect with mental health professionals trained to respond to such emergencies.

The hotline was designed to provide 24/7 free and confidential emotional support around the country to those in mental health distress, the 988 lifeline website explains.

The new number connects the caller to a certified crisis center in the area where the call is placed, according to the website. The hotline is made up of a network of 200 local crisis centers around the country.

DAY TO SHINE

NOAS held a "Day to Shine" on July 18 and August 8 for our foster children and youth, the generosity and commitment of our community and staff shone brightly. Our kids enjoyed being pampered. Their nails were done, and their hair was washed and styled. Many received new outfits to show off. After lunch and snacks, they had professional photos taken. All of them looked great and enjoyed the special treatment. This would not have been possible without the wonderful staff from John Roberts Spa, Salon Mingle, The Revive Station, Kayti Patterson, and everyone else who contributed.
