August Edition

Message from the Executive Director

As we welcome the month of August, I am filled with gratitude, excitement, and tremendous optimism for what lies ahead. As our nation celebrates 250 years of the American experience and PALM proudly celebrates more than 50 years of serving older adults, we honor our past while embracing an exciting future.

For more than five decades, PALM has been a place where older adults find friendship, purpose, support, and community. Today, we are building on that legacy as we continue to grow, innovate, and lead the way in positive aging.

At PALM, we believe the future of aging is built on connection, wellness, lifelong learning, and community.

As you live, you are going to grow older. How you age matters.

That simple belief inspires everything we do.

Whether you're joining us for Wake Up Wednesdays, participating in Wellness Wednesdays and Bingocize, traveling with us to beautiful destinations like Longwood Gardens, reconnecting with friends over lunch, preparing for the return of Movie & A Meal at PALM, exploring financial literacy, participating in health and wellness programs, or enjoying one of our many PALM Experiences, every opportunity is designed to help you live healthier, remain connected, continue learning, and enjoy life to the fullest.

Our calendar continues to grow because our vision continues to grow.

As we continue Building the Future of Positive Aging, PALM is expanding opportunities that strengthen health, encourage lifelong learning, foster meaningful relationships, and brings our community together. We believe every older adult deserves the opportunity to thrive, and we are committed to creating an environment where that can happen every day.

As we look ahead to September, we are excited to welcome members, volunteers, partners, and friends to our Annual Meeting on Friday, September 25. Together, we'll celebrate the progress we've made, share our vision for the future, and highlight how, together, we are growing membership, strengthening community partnerships, expanding fundraising efforts, and ensuring that PALM's programs remain strong, sustainable, and available for generations to come.

Our Annual Meeting is more than a business meeting. It is a celebration of what we can accomplish when a community comes together with a shared purpose. We're also pleased to offer a COVID vaccination clinic that day, making it convenient for members to protect their health while joining us for this important annual celebration.

As always, I encourage you to explore the pages ahead to discover our upcoming activities, wellness initiatives, travel opportunities, special events, and exciting new PALM Experiences. Whether you're joining us for our annual Alfie Pollitt Jazz Fundraiser, participating in Wake Up Wednesdays, discovering Movie & A Meal at PALM, or traveling with friends, there is always something happening at PALM.

At PALM, we're not simply planning activities. We're building the future of positive aging by helping redefine what it means to age with purpose, dignity, health, and joy. The best is yet to come.

With gratitude and excitement,

Dawn S. Allen
