MONTHLY AFFILIATE CALL: RURAL WORKFORCE SHORTAGES

The Monthly Affiliate Call on Wednesday, August 6th, Noon - 1 pm (MT) will feature a presentation by Brad Turpen, FACHE, FACMPE, MBA, CEO of Valor Health. The presentation, Community Collaboration Amid Rural Workforce Shortages, will be aimed at current administrators and managers in the Mountain West. CME credit is offered.

HYPERTHERMIC INTRAPERITONEAL CHEMOTHERAPY (HIPEC)

Laura Lambert, MD, FACS and Erin Ward, MD, experienced surgical oncologists from Huntsman Cancer Institute, will present on Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) The presentation will be held on Wednesday, August 20th, 5:30 - 6:30 pm (MT) and is open to any interested healthcare professional, specifically working in oncology. CME credit is offered.

MONTHLY AFFILIATE CALL: OVERCOMING VACCINE HESITANCY

For the Monthly Affiliate Call in September, Megan Petersen, PhD, MPH, W-EMT will discus Understanding and Overcoming Vaccine Hesitancy

with Your Patients. In addition, Leisha Nolan, MD, PhD, the Epidemiologist for the State of Utah will give an update on the measles outbreak. Any interested healthcare professional is welcome to join the session on Wednesday, September 3rd, Noon - 1 pm (MT). CME credit is offered.

MEDICAL MANAGEMENT OF DIABETES

Join us Thursday, September 25th, Noon - 1 pm (MT) for a session of the Physician Speaker Series. Amie A. Long, MSN, FNP, will present on Medical Management of Diabetes: Best Practices for Medication Use in Complex Patients.  Nurses and providers working with the diabetic adult population will find this learning valuable to enhance their expertise in caring for patients with diabetes. CME credit is offered.

2025 SYMPOSIUM ON ADVANCED CARDIOPULMONARY DISEASE AND TRANSPLANT - VIRTUAL AND BOISE, IDAHO

University of Utah Health is proud to announce the 2nd annual Idaho Symposium on Advanced Cardiopulmonary Disease and Transplant on October 10, 2025 from 7:30 am - 4 pm (MT). Learners can participate in-person at the Inn at 500 in Boise, Idaho or virtually, via Zoom. There is a cost associated with this event. CME credit is offered.

The Pregnancy Care ECHO focuses on the latest in clinical trends from leading experts in the field of obstetrics to increase treatment efficacy in pregnancy care, specifically for high-risk pregnancies. Join the upcoming session on Water Birth presented by the Director of the University of Utah Nurse-Midwife program, Jessica Ellis, RN, CNM. The session will be held on Friday, August 15th, Noon - 1 pm (MT), CME provided.

TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

ADVANCED TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT COURSE (ATLS)


University of Utah Health offers providers clinical trauma education, including Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). The ATLS course teaches a systematic and concise approach to the care of trauma patients. There will be a 1/2 day refresher course on August 23, 2025, held at IMC in Murray. There is also a full, two-day course on September 25 - 26, 2025, on the University of Utah campus. A fee is associated with these courses.
