About the Training
This training is an overview of legacy giving centered around research and data with practical program suggestions to help one move the needle for their organization.
Participants will learn:
- Understanding Legacy Giving: Gain a clear understanding of what legacy giving entails, including types of gifts, motivations of donors, and the impact on organizational sustainability.
- Practical Program Suggestions: Receive practical guidance and strategies on developing and implementing legacy giving programs that align with organizational goals and donor preferences.

Since entering the field of fundraising as a student at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Andrea McFarling has accumulated more than 30 years of professional fundraising experience in the Santa Barbara area. Armed with a B.A. in Social Science and a minor in Management from UCI, Andrea’s fundraising experience includes extensive expertise in the development and execution of planned giving, capital campaigns, major event planning, volunteer management, database development, grant writing, and direct mail appeals.
