WEST WIND FARM VINEYARD & WINERY WIND
Where the wine is truly family-crafted!
Now in its twelfth year of operation, West Wind Farm Vineyard & Winery in Wythe County is the continuation of a generations-long farming tradition. The land has been in the family of owners Paul and Brenda Hric since 1914 and has evolved into one of Southwest Virginia's favorite attractions and a respected wine producer.

Located in the scenic hills and valleys near the New River, the setting is ideal for lazy summer afternoons and cool winter days by the fireplace. Legions of travelers and a loyal following of locals have discovered that great wine and hospitality can be had in all regions of the Commonwealth.

OYSTER TACOSOYSTERNEW
The best food tells a story of the place it is from. Eating an oyster in Virginia captures the character of our waters in one quick, complex taste...telling a story in every shell.  Travelers can eat oysters like a true Virginian year-round, thanks to numerous festivals and events, and even at wineries and breweries.  We love this Oyster Taco recipe.  Serve with a Virginia Chardonnay or Riesling.  Delicious!

DRINK PINK WITH VIRGINIA ROSÉETCAUGUST

Summer is in full swing which means it's time to drink pink.  The popularity of rosé has grown tremendously in recent years, both in Virginia and nationwide.  It has displaced other wines as the perfect pairing for many of the flavors of Coastal Virginia such as oysters, crabs and rockfish, as well as summer pasta dishes and salads.  Rosé wines also pair well with Virginia's spectacular landscapes and picturesque vineyards.  You'll find them at many winery tasting rooms.  https://blog.virginia.org/2018/06/virginia-rose/

AUGUST IS CRAFT BEER MONTH
August is the month to celebrate Virginia craft beer. With more than 180 local breweries across the state, the industry is exploding.  Find a craft beer trail in your area to visit several breweries all within a few miles of each other. Check these out for beautiful scenery, locally-sourced meals and some of Virginia's finest craft beer.  You can explore even more craft beers at events and festivals throughout the month.  https://www.virginia.org/beertrails/
