AUGUST EVENTS
SUMMER CONCERT SERIES!
Summer Concert Series is hosted by the City of New Smyrna Beach. This is a FREE family-friendly event every Thursday at Riverside Park. Join us for shopping and dining on Canal Street. Then dance the night away by the beautiful Indian River.
Every month on the second Saturday. Open to all, there's a DJ and plenty of shops open for food and drinks. Cruisers usually start arriving around 3:00 pm. At 4:00 pm the streets are blocked off to through traffic and the show begins. Expect to see anywhere from 200 to over 500 of the finest custom cars, trucks, and motorcycles you'll find in Florida.
I hope you've visited Wild Oats and Billy Goats in the old Little's Drug Store building. If you haven't you should. If you have, you probably know that the nostalgia of the old lunch counter will be back with us in a spruced-up fashion soon. The newsletter's cub reporter checked in on the remodeling progress today and is able to report that the Little Griddle on Canal (clever name!) is hoping to be open in September. Your griddle and diner favorites will be back along with a specialty coffee bar (sooo needed on Canal Street) and the original Hershey's ice cream served in the good 'ole days. Everything old is new again!
