Angels of Hope’s mission is to provide critical support to Michigan families directly impacted by cancer. Our goal is to help ease the burden caused by the disease, its treatment, and its devastating effects – both financial and emotional. Kirsten and Ashley volunteered at Golf for Hope. Angles of Hope is a fully volunteer foundation. They spent the day selling tickets for 50/50 and the helicopter ball drop. The event raised more than $160,000 for the foundation. We have been asked to continue supporting them by becoming a part of the grant committee. We will be helping families who are in cancer treatment get support for their everyday bills. We are looking forward to doing more work with them!

Tell us about yourself.

I am originally from Glendive, Montana. I moved to Minot in the fall of 1986 to become a math teacher and eventually found my footing in the accounting department. I enjoy the simple things in life such as going for walks with my wife and dog, sitting on my deck at the lake to watch the sunset with my favorite beverage, and spending time with family and friends.

Tell us about your experience.

I have truly been blessed to spend my entire working career at BMA. I started as an intern in January of 1989, blinked, and now have been with the Firm for more than 34 years. During my tenure, I have had the opportunity to work in various lines of business and practice segments as well as serve in numerous leadership roles. It has been a blast and such a rewarding journey!

Describe your family.

I have a wonderful wife, Heidi, who I’ve known since first grade, and two great sons, Brandon and Keston. Of course, the most important member of my family (at least from Heidi’s perspective) is our dog, Niko.

What's a little-known fact about you? 

I don’t know if this is a little-known fact anymore, but I’m addicted to Dairy Queen soft-serve ice cream cones.

What is your favorite thing about working at BMA? 

By a landslide, my favorite thing about working at BMA is having the ability to work with and for such a great group of team members and clients.
